After spending nine years dominating the entertainment industry, Marvel Studios has become deft at assembling increasingly more impressive casts and filmmakers for their projects. But even with that being said, no one could have predicted the truly awe-inspiring cast and creative talent that Marvel would be able to bring together for next year’s Black Panther standalone film.

Credit for that must likely be given to both Marvel’s track record, and also the desire many actors have to work with director Ryan Coogler, following the success of his two previous films, Fruitvale Station and Creed. One of the many talented names attached to the project is Daniel Kaluuya, who’s currently in the minds of most moviegoers following the overwhelming success of his latest film, Get Out. Turns out, Kaluuya is just as excited for Black Panther as the fans themselves are too.

While recently speaking with GQ, Kaluuya took the opportunity to talk about how “beautiful” it has been working on the tentpole comic book film, likening the sprawling cast to a genre favorite:

“This is an African blockbuster, bruv. This is like Game of Thrones. This is crazy. And Ryan Coogler is just, man dem. He’s like us! He’s a normal dude, in a Golden State hat and a Tupac T-shirt directing the whole set. It’s the most beautiful thing to see.”

black panther will be like game of thrones Black Panther Star Compares Movie to Game of Thrones

It’s difficult to gauge just what exactly Kaluuya means when he compares Black Panther to Game of Thrones, though it’s already clear that the film will have a similarly large scope with its ensemble and aesthetic to the HBO hit series based on the Black Panther concept art that’s been released from it so far. Hopefully the same is true for the wholly removed nation of Wakanda, which needs to be unlike anything audiences have seen before. At the very least, set to pickup with Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa following his introduction last year in Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther promises to be a comic book movie truly unlike any other that’s been made so far.

Appearing alongside both Boseman and Kaluuya in the film will be Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Forest Whitaker, Sterling K. Brown, Angela Bassett, Winston Duke, Martin Freeman, and Andy Serkis. It doesn’t take an experienced film buff to get excited by that cast list, and if Black Panther truly manages to be the mythological, epic film that Kaluuya promises here, then it should go down as one of Marvel’s shining achievements.
