KEVIN AND LUCY WERE NOT ON THE SET TOGETHER AT ALL. THEY FILMED ON DIFFERENT DAYS.ROB AND SAM HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS PRODUCTION. DON’T COUNT ON KEVIN BEING IN ANY MOVIES ROB TAPERT PRODUCING.HOWEVER KEVIN WAS ONLY TELLING THE TRUTH BUT STILL YOU DON’T BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS YOU.

Color me surprised at this reunion, especially given the bitter remarks Kevin Sorbo made about Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert (and even his wife Lucy Lawless) for his lack of getting work. Maybe he was PMSing that day.

Part 1 was good but didn’t click hard with me

Part 2 (especially Madsen) was much more what I was after and liked it better… but still not enough to make me want to spend money on the movie on DVD which is telling….

My point is he really used to excite me. All his earlier films has Roger Avary’s writing and influence in them – Reservoir Fogs, The True Romance script and Puilp Fiction. Then the two split up and go their separate ways.

Tarantino does Jackie Brown (adapting from the source material of the novel and its a brilliant character piece.

Now solo, he disapears for 5 years. Then starts his ‘recycling’ period: He comes back with Kill Bill which is HIS take on 70s style kungfu and B action movies he grew up on. Then he does his segment of Grindhouse – once again ‘tributing’ the style of 70s movies he grew up on. (and turning in what I felt was incredibly tedious and boring 90% of the time)

Now he is doing the WWII movie – a ‘remake’ of another 70s B movie

I am really just curious if the guy can do something fresh and original anymore, like his earlier works – or was that amazing spark those works were infused with were the result of his and Avary’s collaboration.

TOTALLY agree with Vic

I am a huge Tarantino fan and was broed to friggin tears during Death Proof – Russell was the only decent thing in it

I am eager to see Tarantino’s new war film but seriously, the guy hasn’t done anything that has truly energized or excited me since JACKIE BROWN

I think after his fallout with his writing buddy after Pulp Fiction and going truly solo, all he has done is do tributes and remakes of the movie styles that influenced him and hasn’t done anything ‘original’ for quite a while.

I felt the exact opposite: I loved Death Proof and was hoping for more as the film ended-In my opinion, Planet Terror was an opportunistic vehicle to cash in on the bio terror zombie film-It truly sucked!!! Brolin was the only highlight!

Kevin Sorbo is 200 pounds of awesome. I’m sold on this and I’m glad he’s getting some appearances nowadays (as bad as meet the spartans was)

I also enjoyed Death proof, i thought it played out well and was a good way to make it entirely character driven. I actually felt fine watching them talk in the bar, and felt like sitting there myself listening.

Maybe it just depends on time of day or mood, but ya, this should of came before planet terror in the double-feature

Hey, I know some people liked it. Me, I remember actually thinking during the movie that if I had a fork I would have gouged my eyes out rather than watch it.

If I hadn’t intended on writing a review I would have walked out (as much of the audience did during Tarantino’s half).

Death Proof was really good. I’m not even a huge Tarantino fan, but Kurt Russell was one of the creepiest characters who has been on screen before No Country For Old Men came out. There was plenty of good suspense and the obviously tongue in cheek dialogue kept a fast pace. Sure it wasn’t Oscar worthy, but it sure was fun.

I thought the second half of Death Proof was pretty cool, personally. I think the aping of the tedious old-style car films was intentional, but modern audiences just won’t accept that sort of thing. But Planet Terror was a better all-around film, and Bitch Slap looks pretty cool too.
