The first season of AMC's Better Call Saul was an overwhelming success, as the drama earned seven Primetime Emmy nominations and became the season's #1 rated new television program in the 18-49 demographic. It quickly escaped from the shadow of Breaking Bad and stood on its own merits as a compelling character study. As a result, fans are eagerly anticipating the show's second season, which will see James McGill go down the path that leads to Saul Goodman.

AMC recently announced the new season will debut in February 2016, a little more than a year after the series premiered. To get viewers primed and ready for more of the loveably sleazy lawyer, they've released a batch of images from the upcoming episodes, showcasing both Saul and the fan-favorite Mike Ehrmantraut.

The pictures are not the most revealing when everything's considered, but they get the job done of promoting the latest season of Better Call Saul and getting fans excited for more misadventures with the two. Check them out below:

Perhaps the most symbolic in regards to a potential season narrative arc is the third one, which sees Saul picking out a suit jacket before heading out. It's a clear illustration of the man being torn between two personas: the morally-obligated James McGill and the crooked Saul Goodman (who borrows one or two traits from "Slippin' Jimmy"). Based on the way the first season ended, it was expected Jimmy's inner conflict would be the driving force behind the narrative moving forward. The official synopsis for the second season seems to confirm this, teasing the idea that McGill has reached a "fork in the road" when weighing his career options in the law field.

Of course, those who have seen Breaking Bad know how it all turns out, but that doesn't mean Jimmy's journey to Saul won't be compelling. With the first season of Better Call Saul, AMC demonstrated they had what it took to craft a great prequel, playing with the audiences' expectations and throwing in some plot twists along the way. Some were skeptical that a Breaking Bad spinoff could live up to its predecessor, but Vince Gilligan arguably caught lightning in a bottle twice and set up a foundation for one of TV's finest dramas yet again. It should be interesting to see where Saul Goodman goes from here.
