After giving a drug lord 24-hours to get out of Miami, the television viewing audience was introduced to the best new character on television, Rayland Givens. As Givens makes his way to a sit-down with said drug-dealer, there is 30 seconds left in that 24-hr time-limit. With Givens’ promise to shoot him dead when time runs out, audiences were left in suspense as this U.S. Marshall readied his gun.

With a couple gun shots from the quick-drawing Givens, his promised is fulfilled and the character of Rayland Givens became engrained in the minds of all those watching. It is with Givens’ intriguing temperament, combined with the terrific storytelling, that brought this iconic Elmore Leonard character to life in Justified and, once again, continues FX’s status as one of the top television networks.

  1. I’m mad that I missed all these episodes of Smallville:(

    • That’s a shame… This season is fantastic!!!

  2. Haha NICE! GO SMALLVILLE! BEST SHOW EVER!

  3. Some good choices there. I’ve yet to obtain my Doc Who series 6 dvds. But I will soon.

As much some ppl hated the way Bauer resolved his vendetta to those that basically ruined his life in the great “24 season 5″, I loved the 24 finally.

It was almost like the writers were trying to say, “look we know the series went south after season5, let us make it up to you, and they did. Jack basically got back at everyone for destroying his career, family and female relationships.

The presidents actions at the UN were unrealistic at the end, but that was really the only problem I had with the last season.

Gonna miss that show already do.

  4. Oh I meant I loved the 24 finale,,,

Not finally. Wth was I typing there?

  5. My favorite didn’t make the list but, the “Death by baptism” scene in ‘Boardwalk Empire’ was pretty wicked.

  6. No love for shawn and juliet finally getting together in psych?

    • Yea ALex I thought that Psyche moment was worth a mention as well.

  7. I think I watched that scene Sully. Did it end with one of the main characters taking back his knife from the guy he killed?

    That was a good one.

  8. Really have to disagree with the mention of Bones. The seasons was pretty bad and that episode was in my opinion one of the worst the series has had to date. It was just awful. It was nice that they tried to add a layer or two to the main character and finally make her interesting, but sadly they failed.

  9. Good article but technically, we have seen 9 days of Jack’s life, 24:Redemption may only have been 2 hours but it was still a pretty traumatic day for Jack Bauer.

I thought the Dexter sequence was incredibly contrived, the best part of the entire season was Dexter’s last line, the darkness on his face, something we haven’t really seen for a while, the monster behind the man is back.

That entire episode of Smallville was amazing stuff, I didn’t honestly think the writers or cast had it in them! My favourite part of ‘Homecoming’ was the dance at the end, because that was the first proper time we saw Clark Kent fly.

Nice to see Ashes To Ashes on there. Great ending to the five season arc begin in Life On Mars, it was a shame they didn’t bring Sam Tyler back though…

This has been the worst season of Bones, I’m not going to watch it anymore.

Great year of Doctor Who, I was worried where the show had to go after Tennant left, but Matt Smith has made the Doctor an alien again, the stories have been rightfully weird, and the Van Gogh episode brought (manly) tears to my eyes. The Christmas special was pure magic as well.

    I’ll miss 24 so much.

    • Drsam as far as Dexter goes I think the great moment was Harry telling Dex that he was proud of him and Dex mirroring that to Aster.

I agree with you on Bones

      • Yes that is my second favourite bit of this season, but I just loved his “but if course, wishes are for children” line because it was infused with such darkness.
Great show, great acting, weakish season but hopefully season 6 will be more like season 4.

  10. Smallville’s Homecoming was one of the best episodes of the series. Tom/Erica are better than any Hollywood biggies who’d eventually end up as Lois and Clark in the movie, because Tom and Erica are the best actors to ever play these roles.

  11. Like a lot of people my biggest question with The Walking Dead was “How much are they going to be able to get away with?” And the opening scene of the series answered the question. They where going to get away with alot…

  12. smallville is awesomeememmem and its gonna get even better

  13. Great article Anthony!!

  14. in regards to the smallville section……that wasnt the 200th episode, according to wikipedia “Isis” was the 200th episode

    • Yeah well, its wrong then. Homecoming is the 200th episode.

      • ok this explains it lol….this note was attached to wikipedia

The producers consider season nine’s “Absolute Justice” two separately produced episodes. However, The CW combined those two episodes into a single broadcast, and they then packaged it in the season nine DVD as one episode as well. Therefore, “Absolute Justice” is both the 185th and 186th episode produced, but only the 185th episode aired. Thus, “Homecoming” is considered the 200th episode produced, but the 199th broadcast. The CW recognizes “Homecoming” to be the 200th episode.

so i guess it depends on if you count episodes aired vs. episodes produced lol
