Think Like A Man Movie Cast

In honor of the release of the new comedy Think Like a Man, we at Screen Rant decided to create a list of eleven male movie characters that guys want to actually think like. In making the list, we followed two simple rules: the characters had to be male and they couldn't be based on anyone in real life.

For each character we chose, we note the situations in which guys would want to think like these characters. As an example, we might not think like Jason Bourne (The Bourne Identity) in everyday life but if we were in a hand-to-hand combat situation, we would definitely want to think like him. That way, we could outsmart, outmaneuver and outlast our opponents.

With that in mind, here’s our list of eleven male movie characters that guys want to think like…

Bruce Willis in Die Hard 4

It’s not every day that a regular guy gets stuck in the middle of a hostage situation where a group of co-workers are held captive in an office building by a team of foreign terrorists.

But in the case of such a life or death situation, Die Hard's John McClane (Bruce Willis) is definitely the guy men would want to think like. Not only is he smart, he’s also a deadly force with a wicked sense of humor.

Yeah, in a hostage situation, guys definitely want to think like this iconic action hero. "Welcome to the party, pal!" Indeed .

Will Smith in Hitch

Alex 'Hitch' Hitchens (Will Smith) is a smooth operator. Not only is he charming with the ladies,  his actual job is to help other guys find out what women want and help them make a connection. He knows how the female mind works and he's smart enough to make a living doing it.

Hitch knows how to approach women and when to give them space. He knows how to make them laugh and when to make them smile. If you’re looking for a movie character who can help you get the attention of the lady of your dreams, all you need to do is to think like Hitch.

If Will Smith can bring confidence, style and a lady into the like of regular guy Albert Brennamen (Kevin James), his mind may help do wonders for your love life…

Michael Douglas in Wall Street

Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) is not a role model by any stretch of the imagination. He’s a manipulative crook who ultimately faces charges for his crimes.

He also has a brilliant financial mind. In both Wall Street and its sequel, this cunning businessman proved that he was willing to do whatever it took to be financially successful. Did he create enemies along the way? Of course. Did he make millions in business? Absolutely.

Guys might not want to make the decisions he did or end up in a jail cell but in the financial world, thinking like Gekko would be a way to get ahead. If you think that "greed is good," then Gekko is one of the best.

Tom Hanks in Saving Private Ryan

Watching the first thirty minutes of Steven Spielberg’s WWII masterpiece is an intense film-going experience but it only opens the door to the story of Captain John H. Miller (Tom Hanks), whose assignment is to find and preserve the life of a private whose brothers had been killed on the battlefield.

If you're in a position of leadership, Captain Miller is definitely the person you want to think like. Not only does he successfully lead his men, he inspires confidence and and earns their respect.

"Earn this" is what Miller tells Ryan at the end of the film, urging the young private to live his life so well that he has earned all of the lives lost in combat on his behalf. In helping rescue Private Ryan, Miller earns our respect and admiration as a soldier whose honor and integrity are always clear.

Ron Livingston in Office Space

Peter Gibbons isn't the best employee at his company. And he doesn't care.

Instead of accepting the status quo, he's willing to stand up against his boss. He is blunt. He is careless. But he is also sometimes rewarded for his honesty. In work situations, Gibbons is the person that guys want to think like. He doesn't care about getting fired and he doesn't worry about pleasing his co-workers. He's a no-nonsense slacker who is willing to admit it.

How many times do guys want to stop dealing with the complexity of office politics and be completely honest with both their co-workers and their bosses?

Sean Connery in James Bond

Bond. James Bond.

Bond is one of film's ultimate icons. He's one of the ultimate guy's guys. He's suave, he's sophisticated and he's a sexy super spy and master gunsman. In any dangerous adventure, guys would want to think like James Bond. He knows what he wants, what he's looking for and he's always equipped with the coolest gadgets and cars in order to go along with his confidence.

It would be exciting to be Han Solo on the Millenium Falcon or Indiana Jones on a trip to recover a lost artifact but James Bond has a natural charisma that guys envy. He saves the day, gets the girl and leaves his enemies devastated without breaking a sweat. What guy hasn't dreamed of being James Bond or thinking like him?

Harrison Ford in Air Force One

Honorable public officials and noble politicians who stand up for the little guy are easy to get behind. Mr. Smith (Mr. Smith Goes to Washington) is a perfect example of a politician who stood by his principles even when it was inconvenient to him. But President James Marshall (Air Force One) had to stick by his principle not to negotiate with terrorists at an even more inconvenient time: While his family was being held hostage.

In public office, guys would definitely want to think like President Marshall. He's a sharp politician who doesn't break his promises - Even while others would surrender their ideals and their values to protect their families, Marshall doesn't. Instead of backing down and negotiating with terrorists, he kills them, but more than that, he makes the tough decisions.

Any any leadership role, guys want to be able to demonstrate strong leadership and be able to back that up with action. President Marshall does that.

"Get off my plane!"

Michael Keaton in Multiplicity

Movies have offered a wide range of fatherly figures, some good, solid upstanding citizens, others lowly criminals. It's difficult to find a perfect Dad in cinema but it's easy to find one that we want to think like.

The father that guys would most like to think like is Doug Kinney from Multiplicity. Doug is a man overwhelmed with his job, his wife and his children. But instead of whining about his predicament, he does something about it. A friend helps clone him so Kinney can better manage his life. He's no longer flustered by the work in front of him and now he has time to focus on what he cares about most.

Is he the perfect father? No. But for all of the guys out there looking for help, thinking like Kinney could be your salvation.

Viggo Mortensen in Lord of the Rings

Of the massive cast featured in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, it is Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) who you'd want to take into combat.

On the battlefield, Aragorn is the man who guys want to think like. Not only is he a strong leader but he's also a fierce warrior, willing to fight against any foe to protect his friends. Whether brandishing a sword or simply facing off against an opponent without a weapon, Aragorn is willing to fight to the death.

One of his strongest attributes is his willingness to protect his allies. While others might have abandoned their hobbit friends in time of battle, Aragorn proves his commitment to them and shows what it means to be a warrior of the highest order.

Sylvester Stallone in Rocky

Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) is a movie icon. He's a symbol of perseverance, strength and courage.

In an athletic competition, guys definitely want to think like the 'Italian stallion.' He's a symbol of American strength and power. When others doubt his abilities, he simply works harder to train. When he's in a difficult spot, he simply manages a way to survive. And when he's in the ring, he fights with everything's he got.

In sporting events and in competitions, Rocky is the guy we look up to. Thinking like him, guys would feel that they could take on the world one step at a time.

Matthew Broderick in Ferris Bueller

Got a day off from work and don't know how to use it? Have some leisure time that needs to be filled?

Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) from Ferris Bueller's Day Off is definitely your answer and the guy that men want to think like. He takes one day off from school and has the adventure of a lifetime with his best friend Cameron (Alan Ruck) and his girlfriend Sloane (Mia Sara). In one day, Ferris drives around town in a Ferrari, sings in a parade, and cons his way into a fancy restaurant.

Bueller is a mischievous and fun-loving teenager who knows how to have a good time. With his escapist antics and his brilliant time management, who wouldn't want to think like Bueller during a day off from work or a weekend? "Life moves pretty fast," he says and Bueller knows how to take advantage of every minute.
