Batman broods in a brand new promo still for Justice League. Debuting in last year's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, DCEU's current iteration of the Caped Crusader is played by Ben Affleck, who will  next appear in the much-anticipated ensemble flick for Warner Bros. DC's biggest superheroes will join forces for the first time later this year as Batman joins Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) band together to protect the Earth from Steppenwolf and Parademons in their imminent arrival in search for the Mother Boxes.

It is no secret that Affleck's stint as Batman has been somewhat tumultuous. When he was first cast for the role, many were skeptical regarding Warner Bros. and DC's choice. But he surprised everyone by being a standout in Dawn of Justice despite the fact that he had to split screen time with Cavill in a highly-divisive film.

Now, a new image has come to light appearing first on Reddit. In it is a three-quarters shot of Affleck's face as Batman complete with his battle suit cowl and a brooding expression. Fans were quick to respond to the new image with a majority of them liking the look, especially the way the mask hides his eyes except when it is a frontal shot.  You can check out the cool photo below:

Several weeks back, a Justice League tie-in toy leak provided us our first look of Batman's new cowl for the ensemble film. It only makes sense that the hero's tactical suit continues to evolve given that Bruce Wayne is a natural tinkerer. And with the movie now less than three months from hitting theaters, we can expect more merchandise and promotional materials not just centering on the Caped Crusader but on the rest of the team as well.

As far as Affleck is concerned, the actor has continued to be riddled with rumors about wanting out of the role and the DCEU. Last month, his brother, Casey Affleck, jokingly renewed talks about the Academy Award-winning actor exiting his current gig, this came not long after the elder Affleck squashed the same rumors when he appeared on the Justice League panel during this year's San Diego Comic-Con. Regardless of the situation, Affleck is still attached to Matt Reeves' standalone Batman film.
