Storm Smith is one of the many new cast members joining Below Deck Mediterranean season 7, which is set in Malta onboard the superyacht Home. Storm will be joining returning cast members Captain Sandy Yawn and deckhand Mzi Dempers. The trailer for the Below Deck Med season 7 trailer was released earlier this week, and along with Storm, and the two returning yachties, there are several new additions.
Along with Storm on deck, Raygan Tyler will be joining as bosun with Mzi and Jason Gaskell as deckhands. For the interior team, Below Deck Med has new Chief Stew Natasha Webb, along with her second and third stews, Natalya Scudder and Kyle Viljoen, as well as Chef Dave White. While fans will is Malia White as bosun and the other crew from last season, they are excited to see what the new crew has to offer.
Judging by the Below Deck Med season 7 trailer, fans are in for a lot of drama and possible boatmances. In the trailer, they teased a potential love connection between Chef Dave and Natasha, as well as Storm and stew Natalya. Besides the romance, there seems to be a lot of drama between both the deck team and the interior team. And so far, it seems Storm is in the midst of it all.
Storm's Career
The Below Deck Med deckhand fell in love with boating at a young age and decided to make a career out of his hobby. Storm immediately fell in love with boats and the lifestyle at sea. He even describes his look and style as a “modern-day pirate” (via BravoTV.) Before his career in yachting, Storm tried different professions, from culinary school to film school. However, his love for the water made him change his mind, and soon after discovered yachting as a career. With his experience as a surf guide from his time in Sumatra, Storm began working on a surfing and diving-centric charter yacht. He has since worked on boats up to 240 feet.
Storm's Hometown & Age
Storm was born in raised in South Africa and developed a childhood friendship with fellow Below Deck Med star Mzi (via E! News). Mzi is currently 27, so it's likely Storm is around the same age. As a child, Storm spent most of his time outdoors, either surfing or fishing. Through his many outdoor activities in South Africa, Storm was able to gain an abundance of knowledge about different boats, which helped him in his current career.

As for Storm's Instagram account, he is always posting photos of himself in the water or of a scenic background. He is currently in Italy and recently shared a photo of himself on a rock on the Amalfi Coast. Storm also has posts in California, Mexico, and his home country of South Africa. So far, this "modern day pirate" seems like a great addition to the Below Deck Mediterranean season 7 crew.
