‘Batman vs. Superman’: First Set Photos of Gal Gadot

Wonder Woman Kryptonian Origin Batman vs. Superman: First Set Photos of Gal Gadot

Last week was a big one for Batman vs. Superman news. The Man of Steel sequel is well into filming and on the heels of the confirmation that director Zack Snyder is indeed helming Justice League, Snyder teased an impending look at the new Batmobile. The next day, fans were treated to our first look at Ben Affleck in his new Batman costume standing next to his ride.

With Warner Bros. finally getting their own shared DC movie universe off the ground, it’s clear by now that the studio is developing their multi-picture franchise in a different way than Marvel. Rather than rolling out a series of solo films to introduce the key characters before uniting them in a Superhero All-Star Jam, Batman vs. Superman will not only pair Superman (Henry Cavill) with Affleck’s Batman, but also Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and possibly undisclosed roles for Dwayne Johnson and Jason Momoa.

Now that filming is underway in Michigan – and with Affleck’s new Batsuit fresh in our minds – fans know to expect on-set images of the film’s stars. We’ve seen plenty of the same from the various international locations for The Avengers: Age of Ultron, but similar photos from Batman vs. Superman have been virtually nonexistent.

Now, however, we have our first look at our new Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot, on location in Birmingham, Michegan, courtesy of Instagram user armendarakjian. Check out the image below (for additional, but similar, images, go here).

It’s clearly just set photo snapped by a bystander, and there’s not much in the way of details or clues about what she might have been filming. It’s tempting to say that the form-fitting blue garment and what might be a red boot visible in this picture form the basis of Wonder Woman’s new costume, but these are clearly street clothes. This certainly seems like an outfit selected by a costume designer, so it could be civilian garb.

If so, will Gadot’s Wonder Woman have a civilian alter ego? Throughout the first decades of the character’s life, Princess Diana of Themyscira also had a secret identity and went by the name of Diana Prince. In the wake of DC’s New 52 reboot, however, this has been discontinued, and it’s unlikely she has one Batman vs. Superman.

Since plot details are firmly under wraps at this point, it’s anyone’s guess as to just how Wonder Woman is introduced into the established Man of Steel universe. It’s more than likely that Diana does not actually don the mantle of Wonder Woman until late in the game, so just how involved in the overall plot is she? We’ll know more when some story details surface.

  1. For the Sequel/Prequel to “The Best Man Holiday”. I would like to see Quentin and Shelby get married. He seems like he is the Only Man who can handle Her. Vice Versa ” She’s the only Woman who can handle Him”‘. He’s great with all of the Children even her Daughter. I think it would also be funny if Shelby and Quentin have been hooking up throughout, the years and if Quentin was Shelby’s Daughter Daddy. Shelby is pregnant again from “Q”. “J” Jordan should be getting married to her boyfriend- (finally) but the kicker to that would be she should be Pregnant and if he can stand up for her and their future family while , his family is trying to break them apart. She’s smart, intuative, on her way up the ladder and can afford to raise her child/children on her own and with help from good friends like hers she will be all right. This time she wants more than just all right she doesn’t want to settle this time. She wants it all like Mia had it. Harper and his wife are having another baby also while she continues to rise as an up and coming chef writing cook books for children. Both of their careers are rising to the top like crème de la crème. Murch and his wife are giving birth to two(2) additional school as well. Fully funded by the government and by benefactors such as Lance, Quentin, Shelby and others it gives Murch and Candy the last say so about programming/scheduling/proctorship and testing/scholarships etc…Lance is busy being a Father, Friend, Football Hall-of-Famer, God Father to Baby Mia, Sports Commentator, Philanthropist, and a Man of God. He doesn’t want to date or meet other women. He is still in love with the One and Only Mia Morgan Sullivan. “J” is a close second because she is the God Mother of their children and she makes things easier for all of them. God, Family, & Football First. “Q” still talks to much, drinks to much, uses reefer a little to much and is to honest about the things that he has done in the past or that he is capable of doing. Shelby keeps him on his toes and he keeps her on her toes- they are crazy as H_ll. But will fight for what they love for and they love each Other, Kennedy, and their friends.

    • This is about Batman Vs. Superman, I have no idea what you are talking about.

    • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHHHHAHHA

  2. Well Gal is not the same height as Lynda Carter. Lynda is 6′ tall. While I do really like Gal as a person (She is actually very nice) I have to wonder about the wisdom of selecting her as Wonder Woman.

Much the same way I question the selection of Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne!

Despite Gal being gorgeous she is still a model.

Honestly Megan Fox might have been a better choice LOOKS wise. Gal lacks Wonder Woman’s beautiful blue eyes, and her bust line.

They also I don’t think made the right Wonder Woman selection even for the new Television show which never made it to TV.

Heck Abigail Ratchford or Megan Retzlaff might be better choices looks wise.

Having grown up watching Lynda Carter, it is as was previously mentioned we deserve the respect of at least keeping Wonder Woman the way we’ve known her. After all, the only thing they changed about Superman was his outfit! :)

    • Lynda Carter is not 6′ tall. She is 5’9.

I have not seen any of the Fast & Furious films she is in, or much else on her resume, so I can’t really judge her as an actress, until I see her in the part, and I am not willing to dismiss her talent sight unseen.

I am also not going to agree with you about the only thing changing between Superman iterations is his costume. The actors who have taken on the role over years have all been different physically and personality wise, and Batman is constantly changing, and thankfully they have never gone back to a Adam West style Bats. I grew up watching the Batman show, and loved it, but I wouldn’t want to see the character portrayed that way in a movie now. The Wonder Woman character has changed a lot in the comics since 1979, so, get over it.

    • Models, mostly thru purging, diet, and cardio form themselves into human coat hangers…those who want to work, that is. Photogs don’t want any feminine curvature to stretch the clothing horizontally. Does this sound like a superhero to you? Michael Keaton, the original big-screen Batmzn, relished the fact that naysayers said he was too short to play thr Caped Crusader. Apparently, this was no hindrance to him. Matthew McConahay (spelling) is seen to be stepping up on something when attempting to fave off w/ Christian Bale’s character in, ” Reign of Fire”. Angelina Jolie, aka “Salt” could barely hoof it up the hill after she had escaped in the end of that movie. Her leg muscles were mere rubber bands, and she simply could not get her bony ass moving. Brought the suspension of my reality to a screeching halt. But actors love to defy any physical shortcomings others claim may burden their performances. And directors love to demonstrate their skill in using whatever attributes are available to surmount such challenges.

  3. With all due respect to Gal Gadot, Other than she is kind of tall, she looks nothing like Wonder Woman.

    • Agreed. However, makeup can do some very interesting things with her face. Especially her eyes. And if she were more full in the chest, then interest in the character may suffer. She does need to bulk up elsewhere, though.

  4. Michigan is spelled with an I, NOT AN E, Anthony Vieira. Learn to spell properly if you are going to continue to imitate a writer!

  5. Okay, okay…I’ll settle this….I’LL play Wonder Woman…but I’ll have to shave off my beard, cover up my ZZ Top and Mr. Natural tattoos, put in my good dentures, and get permission from my wife…..other than that, I think my schedule is open enough.

  6. Fact 1:Gal is gorgeous.
Fact 2: This is nothing a little bit of movie magic tech can’t fix.
So physically on screen she’ll be just fine. The rest will be up to how she is used in the story.

  7. I say lets see what Gal Gabot can do as Wonder Woman! We can judge after we have seen the movie. She may surprise us all.
