To commemorate Orlando Bloom’s final day on the set of The Hobbit, Peter Jackson had him recreate a classic viral video.

The Power Behind Your Favorite Films

These days everyone is familiar with the power created by renewable energy. Solar and wind energy news are covered regularly by major media outlets and much of the nation has launched into the green energy movement. But it’s possible Hollywood started it all. The movie industry has been coming up with creative energy solutions for decades. From the lightning strike that brought one of the most famous monsters to life to the little old man who used balloons to fly, America’s film producers have embraced alternative energy. Some of these sources are fact based, some are downright ridiculous and some have even sparked real-life inventions!

Snow White Photoshoot

Teryl Dactyl as Snow White. Here is what she had to say about the shoot…

“Every now and then I get a comment that I look like Snow White… so I thought I’d do a shoot based on the classic fairytale version. Snow White comes upon a very enticing red apple… takes a bite, and then falls into a deep slumber. Now all she needs is a prince to save her!”

Mario Bros. Piranha Plant Sculpture

Artist Karen, a.k.a. dogzillalives, puts an extra creepy spin on the already freaky carnivorous plants. Her sculpture looks like someone spliced human DNA with one of the piranha plants from Super Mario Bros.

Dogzillalives does a lot of body horror in polymer clay. She’s especially partial to light switch plates and jewelry covered in boils, bloodshot eyeballs, teratomas, and tongues wagging from unexpected places. You can see more of her work on deviantART or purchase it from her Etsy store.
