Since Marvel Studios is taking the year off from Comic-Con International 2015 in San Diego, Warner Bros. Studios and DC Entertainment are taking over the prime Saturday night spot in Hall H. Although the panel will focus mainly on the television side of DC-based properties, Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is expected to appear. Additionally, the upcoming superhero blockbuster has already had a major presence at SDCC this year, including a number of props on display on the show floor.
While the Warner Bros./DC panel isn’t until Saturday night, Snyder stopped by the infamously-long line for Hall H – which attendees usually start queuing up for around the same time or before SDCC officially begins – Friday night with a major prop from the feature: the Batmobile.
The official Batman V Superman Twitter account posted videos and photos of Snyder driving up to the Hall H line (with a police escort, of course), throwing shirts to the dedicated fans and speaking with those lined up. Though the videos and images are dark since it was late at night, those in the line for Hall H got a first-hand look at the Batmobile in action.
Snyder’s version of the Batmobile was first teased last spring with some photos from the set of Batman V Superman, which also featured Ben Affleck suited up as the Dark Knight. More photos of the Batmobile have since been released, some with the vehicle in a state of partial destruction, as well as videos to show Batman’s new ride. Recently, more detailed specs and a back story were unveiled so fans could become more familiar with the Batmobile.
In addition to presenting their lineup of shows on the television side of Warner Bros. and DC’s slate, the studio will possibly preview Suicide Squad and Justice League along with debuting a new trailer for Batman V Superman. While showing off the Batmobile to those in the Hall H line doesn’t offer any new info to fans anticipating the upcoming team up of Batman and Superman, it was certainly a treat for attendees and those at home.
As for new footage or information, that will likely come later today once the Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment panel kicks off in Hall H. Though it’s difficult to say what exactly will be featured at the panel in terms of the DC Cinematic Universe, it seems unlikely Batman V Superman won’t be present at all given the film’s spring 2016 release date.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice will be in theaters on March 25th, 2016; Suicide Squad on August 5th, 2016; Wonder Woman – June 23rd, 2017; Justice League – November 17th, 2017; The Flash – March 23rd, 2018; Aquaman – July 27th, 2018; Shazam – April 5th, 2019; Justice League 2 – June 14th, 2019; Cyborg – April 3rd, 2020; Green Lantern – June 19th, 2020.
