One of Gotham's most iconic duos, Batman and Catwoman, speed off into the night in fresh photos and video from The Batman's set. Matt Reeves' DC flick began production earlier this year, but faced a major setback in mid-March when the coronavirus pandemic suspended work. Though production was able to resume months later, it was soon dealt with another delay when star Robert Pattinson tested positive for COVID-19. The Batman finally picked up once again two weeks later, and based on the flurry of recent set photos, it's making a lot of progress.

The Batman stars Pattinson as a Bruce Wayne in his second year of being Gotham's famed hero. Specific plot details are still being kept under wraps, but it was revealed that a string of murders within Gotham City have caused Bruce to jump into action to find the killer. The Batman's supporting cast, in addition to featuring several well-known allies like Alfred (Andy Serkis) and Jim Gordon (Jeffrey Wright), is filled with some major figures from Batman's rogues gallery. This includes the Penguin (Colin Farrell), the Riddler (Paul Dano), and Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz).

Kravitz's Catwoman has already been spotted in various Batman set photos, but now fans have a new shot of her in action alongside Batman. These images come courtesy of Joshua Mellin, who has provided looks at both Catwoman and Batman on their motorcycles and close-ups of the details of The Batman's Gotham. Perhaps most exciting is the video of the two masked figures speeding off into the night, which you can see down below.

The very first trailer for The Batman promised a fight scene between Bruce and Catwoman, but the above video seems to indicate they'll end up working together. Of course, it's hard to say for sure based on a simple set video, but Catwoman and Batman have often been allies in the comics. Perhaps that's how The Batman will portray the two, which could be a major advantage for Bruce. Between the Riddler, who may or may not be the main villain, and a still-evolving Penguin, Bruce will have his hands full.

The Batman set photos and trailer, which was unveiled back in August, have helped ignite excitement for the film. While Batman is a character that has been depicted numerous times across film and television, Reeves has promised to provide a brand new take on him for this movie, and it's safe to say fans are feeling pretty good about the direction he's going in. Only time will tell how the finished product turns out, but The Batman is so far shaping up to be a thrilling ride.
