  1. Their loss… and ours.

Oh Disney, how I hate thee, let me count the ways…

    • I doubt it would have been all that fantastic. I mean lets be real. Its Edgar Wright…while I enjoyed Shaun and Hot Fuzz…it was basically just a mindless comedy romp…nothing a a couple of these creative frat guys on you tube could have put together…those 3 movies are pretty much the extent of his success that I am aware of. I am sure people are going to yell at me about that but while it might have been okay I doubt it was going to be breaking new original teritory based on the previous couple of movies he did. And of course Simon Pegg would say that. LOL He is in almost all his movies so they must be friends. LOL

      *shrug*.

      • “..it was basically just a mindless comedy romp…nothing a a couple of these creative frat guys on you tube could have put together”

You just described every movie ever made by Seth Rogen, Adam Sandler and James Franco. What you DIDN’T describe were Edgar Wright films.

I guess the British humour is lost on some Americans if they think anyone can do that kind of comedy.

And yep, it’s Disney’s loss and I can guarantee the Ant-Man we’ll get next year will be a poor man’s version of the Wright/Cornish version. I hope the Disney fanboys enjoy the film as much as they assume they will because I won’t be watching it.

        • Nice example of British arrogance there Dazz. Look, I love Edgar Wright but you may have an over inflated view of his work. He’s good, but he isn’t Terry Gilliam.

          • That’s why I said “some”? Maybe you should learn to read properly before commenting with baseless insults? Nice example of American ignorance there Elfa.

I like both Edgar Wright and Terry Gilliam equally and no, I don’t have an over inflated view of Wright’s work, I just recognise good films that I enjoyed immensely.

            • Nice example of British argoance that any one that has a opinion than yours is wrong.

Probably why America exist in the first place, imagine that. :)

And about 70% of the shows I watch are British…or at least over seas generally.

But I like you Dazz,,,your arrogance is kind of endearing in an “I am glad its over seas kind of way”.

        • Yeah, Edgar Wright is not only comedic with his writing, but he uses his direction and camera angles as a part of the story and a part of the humor, as well. He has very good wit and story ideas, but his direction adds to the icing on the cake. He uses the directing as an instrument to further the plot (duh) and to further the comedy. Very brilliant mind, hopefully his horror movie he’s working on will bring and interesting spin on the horror genre.

      • You don’t have to be British to come to the conclusion that Wright’s comedies are the antithesis of mindless comedy romps.

  2. Disappointed Geek Picks haven’t shown the video I sent in days ago made by CinemaSinsJeremy talking about why Batman Vs Superman will destroy Captain America 3 because nobody was clamouring for a Cap movie, they just wanted a decent action movie and that explains Cap 2′s success while also explaining that the 3 most well-known comic book characters worldwide are Batman, Superman and Spider-Man so a film putting two of those together will always win out.

It’s not like it can’t be shown due to the NSFW language because they’ve shown uncensored videos before so I assume the site doesn’t want another several page war between people who can’t debate properly without resorting to insults?

    • Actually they did show it! And even though Batman vs Superman would probably destroy Cap 3 at the box office, the reason why The Winter Soldier was so successful is simply because it’s a great movie!

    • Yeah, we did posted that video a few weeks back.
      http://screenrant.com/dc-marvel-equivalents-captain-america-3-vs-batman-superman/

    • Geeks pick from like a week ago? 2 weeks ago had it up if im not mistaken. And totally agree with Jeremy, box office wise BvsS will be a juggernaught even if the film is a hot mess (and even bigger if its a well made critical success). Either way its going to be breaking records.

  3. CinemaSins is the only entertaining vid, once again. Only reason I came was for Pegg and he didn’t give any insight. This article seems like a cheap attempt at click bait.

  4. Congrats to San Antonio Spurs for winning the NBA championship 2014!
