In Baggage Claim, Paula Patton (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol) stars as Montana Moore, a single flight attendant who gives herself 30 days to find the man of her dreams before her younger sister's wedding. With the help of her friends and airport co-workers, she goes on a marathon of dates with past flames and jets all over the country in search of a future husband.

The airport-set romantic comedy is brought to us by writer/director David E. Talbert, a former playwright turned filmmaker who is best known for helming the comedy First Sunday (2008). His latest production stars Derek Luke (Antwone Fisher), Taye Diggs (Private Practice), Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond), Trey Songz (Texas Chainsaw 3D) and Boris Kodjoe (Resident Evil: Retribution) as the suitors; Jill Scott, Adam Brody (The O.C.), Tia Mowry (The Hot Chick), La La Anthony and Affion Crockett (A Haunted House) as the friends; and Lauren London (Madea's Big Happy Family) as the younger sister and bride-to-be.

The trailer, which you can check out above, sets up the film as your standard rom-com. There a few laughs to be had, but the formula is basically the same. You've got the ticking clock of 30 days to move the plot along, the funny, perhaps slightly overzealous friends to provide the laughs, the beautiful leading lady the audience can root for and a slew of charming bachelors trying to win the lead character's, as well as the audience's heart.

The particular premise of a lead character going through past relationships is also far from original (Ghosts of Girlfriends Past and What's Your Number? for example), but that doesn't necessarily mean the film can't be successful at winning audiences over with a charming love story. If the cast displays strong chemistry and if the film favors relatable, grounded humor over airport puns - like the ones we see on the poster above - then it could become one of the better date movies of the year.

Baggage Claim opens in theatres on September 27, 2013.
