Mike Johnson, star of The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise, praised Demi Lovato's cellulite in a bikini picture she shared with her Instagram followers. By posting an unedited shot, the singer wanted to prove that every body is beautiful. One body that had gotten her attention earlier this year was none other than Johnson himself.
For better or for worse, Bachelor Nation now knows for a fact that Johnson is a single man. He was the only man remaining without a rose in the most recent rose ceremony in Bachelor in Paradise, a result equal parts baffling and heartbreaking. He has been open about his desire to be The Bachelor - a decision that is currently still up in the air. But he has also discussed certain celebrities that he's admired, including Lovato. During Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette, Lovato took to Instagram to confess her adulation for one of the most popular guys of the season. She wrote, "I'M RIGHT HERE MIKE I'M RIGHT HERE BOO MY MOM ALREADY LOVES YOU TOO." That was as clear a sign as any that Lovato - a fan of the series - would be open to dating Johnson. He hasn't had time to take Lovato up on the offer, however, because up until this week, his fate on Paradise was an unknown. Now that he's off the show, it may be a different story.
Lovato bravely bared her true self for her Instagram followers on Thursday, stating, "This is my biggest fear. A photo of me in a bikini unedited. And guess what, it’s CELLULIT!!!! I’m just literally sooooo tired of being ashamed of my body." Johnson, being the supportive man we've all known him to be, typed back (via People),“Look at me like that again. love yaself." The flirty note, accompanied with a flirty smirking-face emoji, received more likes than other blue-checked commenters, such as Ashley Graham, Haley Bieber, and Scooter Braun. Lovato etched a short-but-sweet response to Johnson, sending two emojis - the first blowing a kiss and the second of a laughing face. The cryptic back-and-forth threw the comments section into a frenzy, with plenty of heart-eyed fans proclaiming that they are, indeed, "Here for this." Whether "this" is going to happen or if it's just the standard celeb-to-celeb playful banter is yet to be seen.
Johnson may still be off the market for now, since he could be in the running for The Bachelor. Even if he knew someone else had landed the role, he may be tempted to wait before he jumps back into the dating pool for fear of ruining the suspense of selection of The Bachelor. At least Bachelor Nation fans can be grateful that even if The Bachelorette alum doesn't become The Bachelor, there will be no shortage of women ready to test the waters with Johnson.
