‘Avengers’ Mondo Posters: Stylish Looks at Marvel’s Superhero Team [Updated]

[UPDATE: Check Out 2 New 'Avengers Assembled' Posters!]

Mondo Tees is in the (side) business of making some truly great and stylish movie posters – and recently the company turned its sights toward celebrating the release of Marvel’s The Avengers by releasing some new posters, each styled after a particular member of the team.

We’ve already seen the Hawkeye and Black Widow posters, but we’ve included those in today’s gallery as well, so that fans can get a look at the complete set, which include the new additions of Captain America, Thor, Iron Man and The Hulk (sorry, no Nick Fury).

Anyone with experience collecting these Mondo posters will tell you: it’s a rat-race to get your hands on them before they sell out. To avoid having to hover over the company’s homepage, hitting refresh until you have repetitive stress disorder, it might be a better idea to follow the Mondo Twitter page (Mondo News). The company announces sales of the posters randomly, and from there it’s an all-out race to get them before they (swiftly) sell out. If you’re a collector, you better be ready at the starting line when the proverbial gun goes off.

Have a look at the Mondo Avengers poster collection:

Of the posters, I have to say that Thor (by artist Martin Ansin) is my personal favorite – followed closely by the minimalist Black Widow design. Let us know your favorite in the comment section below.

As stated by Collider, here are the following proposed release dates for the posters:

  • Black Widow and Hawkeye have already been released and SOLD OUT.
  • Captain America and The Hulk will go on sale sometime Thursday, April 26th.
  • Thor and Iron Man go on sale Friday, April 27th.

As stated, keep your eyes peeled on the Mondo Twitter Feed for the announcement of when the posters are available for sale. Happy hunting, and here’s hoping you manage to snag your favorite.

The Avengers is already out in foreign markets; it comes to U.S. theaters on May 4, 2012.

  1. The posters look great.
Just one small issue though: since when has the Hulk had black finger nails? Surely our favorite green rage-monster isn’t using nail-polish?! ;)

    • Pretty sure his fingernails are Green and the black is just shadow effect.

      • You’re probably right.
It just looks kinda weird is all.

        • Hulk goes goth. Feel his pain. :-)

          • I refuse to smash because everybody wants me to. I will just crush them with my tears.

            • hahahaha!!!! :D

  2. What is that behind the Hulk? It looks suspiciously like the giant metal serpentine thing chasing Iron Man in the trailer but how exactly does that relate to Hulk directly?

    • well when you see the movie you will understand, lets jsut say the hulk has some 1 on 1 with that thing. in the poster it looks like ‘alien’ to me

  3. Damn these are amazing.

I think I agree I like Thor the best followed by cap. I like not being able to see his face and have his shield be enough reminds me of the first poster for thor.

I like the hulk and iron man. Not bad at all. Hulk is a badass character. I love hawk eye and black widows is awesome. Simple.

I wish I could pick these up but sadly no money

  4. I wish movie posters and DVD cover artworks were like this. I hate all the photoshopped film art nowadays. Even though these are digitally produced, they have that old skool craftsman style like movie posters used to have up until the late 80′s.

You simply DON’T get iconic movie images that look good hung on a wall anymore.

  5. BTW these look wicked! ^-^

  6. Wicked cool

    • That linked image is very Art Nouveau and I like it more than any of these. It has more style than just a simple trace and paste job.

  7. Bring on the HULK sequel.

  8. I love LOVE Mondo’s art, but they never announce the works until after they’re already sold out. I don’t mind limited-release artwork, but I do mind when they sell all copies to “insiders” and then announce the work on social media. Mondo does this a lot. “Check this awesome stuff we did! You can’t have it.”

    • I expect their servers would crash if they announced anything. This way they probably just manage to sell what they can produce in a timescale they can deal with.

  9. I’m hoping to get a Thor one, but every time I’ve played the “watch twitter, and buy the thing as soon as its up” game, I’ve missed out on their stuff.
