Today's daily dose of Avengers goodness comes in the form of a full-length international trailer that comes "saddled" with Japanese voiceover narration and subtitles (but non-dubbed dialogue), along with a whole lot of new footage from writer/director Joss Whedon's extravagant Marvel superhero ensemble epic.

Among the goodies included in this new international theatrical promo for The Avengers are: yet another cool (if blurry) glimpse at the film's extraterrestrial invaders - who Whedon has confirmed are neither the Skrull nor the Kree - along with more footage of Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) looking (what else) badass in action, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) battling his brother Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and a brief appearance by a familiar player in the Marvel movie universe... and no, it is NOT Spider-Man, as has long been rumored.

In the aftermath of the second domestic Avengers trailer, there's little more (if anything) that need be done to convince most comic book lovers to see the film for themselves and find out if Whedon and his collaborators have indeed managed to pull off this risky endeavor. Everything from that promo's awe-inspiring "money shots" like Hulk catching Iron Man - or the already-iconic visual of the Avengers assembled in battle - to the strong hints of a storyline rife with engaging personal drama... well, all that does a great job of selling itself.

The promising new footage included in the latest Japanese Avengers trailer - be it new shots of the Avengers' helicarrier (see below) or Agent Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) voicing her skepticism about her boss Fury's plans - is just icing on the cake, as far as the buildup to the film's release goes.
