A new set photo from Avengers: Infinity War point out to another city destruction. We know that the upcoming Marvel ensemble film will have stakes higher than any other film from the juggernaut franchise and Earth's mightiest heroes, together with their newfound allies, should be on their A-game if they want to keep the world safe against the looming threat that is Thanos.

Filming for the Infinity War has been going on for quite a while now with various players coming to Atlanta, where principal photography of the movie is taking place. Despite a solid team of characters going up against Thanos, the film poses a lot of challenges for the Marvel heroes. And if this set photo provides a context to the extent of damage that the Earth is susceptible to, the once-fractured Avengers will have to set aside their differences first for the greater good.

The photo was discovered on the Reddit subcommunity, r/marvelstudios and features a set piece showing a cab almost slashed in half. While the prop is being used in a filming at Luckie Street, Atlanta, looking closely at the taxi's advertising board reveals that it has a fake promo for New York lottery meaning the scene is part of the New York scenes of the film. Last month, it was confirmed that Infinity War will eventually move the shoot to the Big Apple, although specifics about the planned production were not revealed.

New York is such a pivotal setting in the MCU. It is where Tony currently lives with the Avengers Tower still at the heart of the city (although a new complex is also built in Upstate New York), both Cap and Spidey/Peter Parker are natives of the city and so is Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). The first Avengers battle also took place there, so it is an interesting notion that Infinity War will be back with the possibility of more city-wide destruction, this time brought about by Thanos and his cohorts.

Filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo are probably cooking up something else than making the climactic battle of Infinity War set in New York like The Avengers. Given that the Sorcerer Supreme is expected to play a sizeable role in the film, it is possible that it is set in another dimension or it could also be a triggering attack that would be a call-out for the Avengers that a threat is coming.

Despite the photo teasing a potential New York emergency job for the Avengers, without any context to it, it's difficult to gauge just what it means in the overall narrative of the film. With both the grounded and cosmic heroes of MCU coming together, plus a powerful alien villain, there many possibilities in terms of action set pieces for Avengers: Infinity War.
