The Scotland set of Avengers: Infinity War continues to look more important for the film, with Robert Downey Jr. and Samuel L. Jackson reportedly coming to set soon. Marvel Studios is in the thick of filming its largest film yet and aims to deliver on a promising premise. Infinity War has been described as the ultimate team-up movie and will see the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and more come together in an effort to defeat Thanos.

While Atlanta has been Marvel's primary home over the last several years, early on in the filming of Infinity War, a secondary crew was sent to Edinburgh, Scotland. The shoot first featured only Scarlet Witch and Vision, but the star power has continued to rise as filming went on. Now, it looks as though Iron Man and Nick Fury will get involved in these mysterious scenes.

Chronicle Live reports that Downey Jr. and Jackson are scheduled to arrive in Durham this week. While the specifics of the scenes being filmed are not clear, it is said that they will be part of the Dunham sequence that has seen a flurry of stars report to set over the past few days. With two of the founding stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe now in town, the evidence is mounting with regard to the importance of these scenes.

Avengers Infinity War cast

Depending on which stars are still in Dunham, Downey Jr. and Jackson will join some combination of Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Paul Bettany (Vision), Chris Evans (Captain America), and a stand-in for Rocket Raccoon. If there are other mystery cast members here as well, it could only further point to a significant event taking place.

Most recently, a set photo revealed a potentially deadly connection to Age of Ultron that could hint at the presence of Valhalla or Hel and the death of one or many heroes. If this is the case, the large presence of stars could be a result of them all being dead or an attempt to rescue/resurrect a select few fallen members. If this is part of Thor's vision being realized, it could also be possible that Tony's vision of the Avengers dead in the sky could be coming true as well.

Even if this is not the case, the setting could be the eventual secret hideout for whatever heroes remain as they look to strike back against Thanos. It is unlikely this will be the last bit of information to leak from the set in Scotland, so this is a story that will surely develop in the coming weeks. But, in the meantime, it offers up plenty of room for speculation.
