**Warning: The following contains MAJOR spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and potential spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War**

Michael Rooker teased in February that he was shooting scenes for Avengers: Infinity War but despite the events of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, new evidence suggests that he actually might be in Avengers 3.

The tease in question involved Rooker sharing a photo of himself sporting an Avengers: Infinity War hat while at the Starbucks in Peachtree City, Georgia - basically right near Pinewood Atlanta Studios where the movie (and most recent Marvel Studios movies since Ant-Man) are being shot. Two days later, Rooker shared another photo with tape covering the logo, as if the whole thing were a ruse for marketing purposes.

... That or a decoy given that Yondu gets spaced in the final act of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the most difficult decision writer-director James Gunn had to make while writing its screenplay. Gunn even wrote one ending where Yondu is saved at the last minute but he had to commit. We told you there'd be spoilers here!

Sylvester Stallone as Stakar Ogord and Michael Rooker as Yondu in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2

That Hashtag Show is reporting however, that Rooker's MCU career ain't finished yet! They shared a casting notice that was posted on the Worldwide Entertainment Network looking for a Michael Rooker stand-in, specifically naming "Yondu" to work on Avengers: Infinity War from May 29th until end of June. That's quite a bit of shooting, especially given that three weeks ago Chris Pratt was reported to be almost done shooting and we know the Guardians of the Galaxy only have "supporting" roles in the team-up epic.

Perhaps with the time gem and soul gem we get a Yondu return, or there could be different time periods (something I suspect is a must come time for Avengers 4 and certain storylines to play out). Or there could even be flashbacks to the "original" Guardians team (Sylvester Stallone's Stakar, Ving Rhames's Charlie-27, Michelle Yeoh's Aleta Ogord, Miley Cyrus' Mainframe, Michael Rosenbaum's Martinex, and Krugarr). Check out our recent interview with Michael Rooker about his future potential in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Update: James Gunn commented on the rumor and as we suspected, Rooker's time "on set" was just a ruse. Yondu won't be in Infinity War according to him which puts into question the nature of the casting notice discovered.

False. (Vol 2 spoilers in link) https://t.co/UmP3ft5j0B— James Gunn (@JamesGunn) May 18, 2017
