Over the past eight years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has grown to include a massive roster of heroes, but also a growing number of sections of the universe. Phase 1 was mostly dominated by humans, but even then Thor gave way to the introduction of Asgardians. Avengers then brought the first true alien race into the universe with the Chitauri being used as pawns in Loki's plan, but the MCU has grown much larger since.

Guardians of the Galaxy opened the alien floodgates and featured more species than nearly anyone can count. Thor: The Dark World continued to explore other races roaming the Nine Realms, and yet, even the Earthly groups have expanded. Doctor Strange brought the Masters of the Mystic Arts into the fold, whereas Black Panther will open up the heritage of Wakanda. Now, it looks as though all of these corners will be featured at some level in Avengers: Infinity War.

Backstage (h/t Uproxx) has revealed three new casting calls for Infinity War that appear to bring the Dora Milaje, Asgardians, and a number of alien species into the fold. The cast listings are as follows:

  • Aliens (Background/Extra) Males & Females, 18-50. Tall, slender or athletic build. Must be comfortable being painted (including on your face & any exposed body parts). All ethnicities.
  • Vikings (Background/Extra) Males & Females, 18-59. Especially looking for men with long hair & beards. Must be comfortable with fake blood and possibly special effects make-up. Caucasian.
  • Warrior Woman (Background/Extra) Female, 20-39. Athletic build, 5’9”-5’11”, waist 26-28, hips 37-39. Looking for someone with a high top fade or willing to cut hair on just the sides and wear a wig. African-American.
Dora Milaje Black Panther

The most straightforward casting call is for the aliens themselves. Their required shooting schedule is not as long as the other two parts, but this only continues to show that there will be a number of various alien races on display throughout the film. The "Vikings" meanwhile are clearly stand ins for Asgardians, unless part of Thanos' evil plan with the Time Stone involves a travel back to times of old.

The "Warrior Woman" on the other hand could go a number of different ways. The most obvious choice is for it to be a member of the Dora Milaje given her age is perfect for the warrior group, as well as the hair description. However, there is also the possibility of this woman being another member the Valkyries. Tessa Thompson will be introducing this group to audiences in Thor: Ragnarok, and while there has been no reports of her also appearing in Infinity War, it is not out of the realm of possibility.

These are just small details in what is otherwise a very large scope that Infinity War will have, so all three of these casting calls could be insignificant in the larger movie. However, each will undoubtedly play some role in the film, now fans will have to just wait and see how it all plays out.
