I wish they’d do these posters more old skool. Like old movie posters, like the Indiana Jones ones for example. They just all seem very tacky nowadays. I’d never hang a poster like that on my wall or wear it on a T-shirt. A good design is a good design and will pay off dividends in the long run. If it becomes an iconic image it can have a life of it’s own within collectors, art lovers and fashion.
It’s not too clear, but it looks like Cap actually has wings on his helmet. I actually prefered the stenciled on ones from the 40′s era movie suit. Also his ears are showing this time. But what’s that on his shoulders? Is it a captain’s rank insignia? (I really don’t know what one looks like.)
I strongly agree.
Funny how Cap doesn’t really look like Chris Evans in these posters. The one character whose face they really had to change to make look like he’s supposed to.
So I guess Thor , won’t be wearing his helmet in this movie either?
Cap’s costume looks great. Good luck to Hawkeye when he releases that arrow. If he doesn’t kill Capt. America first (since he’s aiming at him and since there’s no way he could shoot accurately in that pose), he’s going to be howling in pain when that string rakes all the way down the length of his arm. Maybe he should learn to shoot a bow first before proclaiming himself to be an expert in archery.
Hawkeye looks like he took some inspiration from Burt Reynolds’ “Lewis” from Deliverance.
Unfortunately this isn’t the poster for the film, despite it having the likenesses of the actors, it was distributed thru another source of MARVEL,, most likely their consumer products division, it’s not actual theatrical marketing for the movie itself.
I love how Cap gets to wear the American flag but heaven forbid Hawkeye’s suit has more purple. Cause you can wear a flag and it’s fine, but purple is totally out of the question
Why must every or almost every superhero brought to film have to be stripped of any and all individuality just to be subjected to what look like S&M gear?
I’m sooo sick of it in film! Why are they so afraid to put color in the suits is beyond me especially since Watchmen showed & proved that if handled correctly, even horrid costumes can be massaged and tweaked into looking cool. Hawkeye’s “ridiculous purple thing” is a Marvel staple. C’mon guys. This is supposed to be fantasy treated as close to reality as possible. Now I don’t know about you guys but I have seen leather in more than just black. Shoot! If they wanna put someone in black, wheres the Panther!?
They suck for that. And put Thor’s d^mn helmet on him! Maybe if we make enough noise, we can get the man some color, disguise and respect. Who’z down?
I am so down. I agree. Put a helmet on Thor, at LEAST make Hawkeye’s off-color purple and not red (at least a nod that they know he’s supposed to be that color), and personally, I like the Black Widow outfit when she’s got the red hourglass on her chest, not just her belt buckle.
Oh, and they better make it clear that Hawkeye is just as critical (if not more) as Bullseye (or this guy from the Hawkeye state is gonna be pissed!)
Mentioning some of the Red Room things done to Black Widow wouldn’t hurt either (since, y’know there isnt an Ant-Man and Wasp)
The Hawkeye costume could have been really interesting. What they seem to have done is just really silly, and as a (very) long time Hawkeye fan all the signals this sends me are negative.
