Actually, hair does grow thicker if you shave. Shaving causes irritation on the skin which increases blood flow to that area which helps hair grow. That’s how Rogaine works, by increasing blood flow to the area where it’s applied. Also on a personal note, I used to only shave the outside part of my mustache with a razor while only trimming the rest with a trimmer in an attempt at grooming it to be neater, now those parts are thicker than the rest of my mustache.
