The upcoming Avengers: Endgame re-release gets new details and a brand new poster revealed in light of tickets going on sale. Marvel Studios' culminating movie will return to cinemas this weekend as revealed by Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige last week, and it will include never-before-seen scenes, including an additional post-credits scene. The movie originally skipped the traditional stinger for a nostalgic nod to the first Iron Man.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo with the story written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, Endgame picks up after the catastrophic ending of Avengers: Infinity War where Thanos (Josh Brolin) handed the Earth's Mightiest Heroes their first ever real defeat. Successfully collecting all six Infinity Stones, the Mad Titan snapped half of the universe's population out of existence and it was the remaining Avengers' job to bring them all back. It took them five long years, but they eventually achieved their goal. Their win, however, came with sacrifices, specifically from Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.). Endgame was generally praised for delivering a satisfying conclusion to the Infinity Saga, but Marvel Studios still has some surprises up their sleeves.

Marvel Studios released a special Endgame one-sheet in celebration of the film's re-release. The poster features Tony Stark's gauntlet with all six Infinity Stones fitted to it, something that Marvel Studios can now do since most people have already seen the movie. On the poster, it says "WE LOVE YOU 3000," a direct nod to Morgan Stark's heartwarming line to her father. According to the official press release, Endgame's re-release will begin on Friday, June 28 with tickets now on sale. Sadly, only select theaters will be participating in this "Bring Back event." Check out the image below:

Additional information regarding the re-release from the presser reveals "fans who buy a movie ticket will receive an exclusive piece of Avengers art (available in select theaters and until supplies run out)." With regard to what to expect from the updated version of the film, the statement says that it will include "a video introduction by director Anthony Russo and an unfinished deleted scene from the film, and it will be a chance for fans to get a head start on the upcoming Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Far From Home via a special sneak peek."

The timing of Endgame's re-release makes sense since it's mandatory viewing for Spider-Man: Far From Homewhich hits theaters next week. In the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is still grappling with the death of his mentor, Iron Man, who sacrificed his life to ensure the future of the universe free of Thanos' threat. However, the more blatant reasoning for this final push is for the film to earn enough to dethrone Avatar as the highest grossing film of all time. At this point, Endgame is still trailing by $38 million, and frankly, the re-release doesn't guarantee it will overtake the James Cameron movie.

It's curious if this is all the new content that fans can expect from the re-release or if there are other bits that Marvel Studios isn't announcing. Nevertheless, if fans are already set on re-watching it, it won't really matter anyway. The question is whether or not this will be enough new material for casual viewers to catch Avengers: Endgame again in cinemas, and for the film to push past Avatar, it's important that they convince as many people to sit down for another three-plus hours to re-watch the film.
