The Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to continue after Avengers: Endgame, and here are some of the ways that the movie changes what the shared universe will look like moving forward. Marvel Studios built toward Avengers: Endgame throughout 22 movies, as they introduced original Avengers members early on. It wasn't until The Avengers in 2012 that they all came together to form a team though, and when Marvel teased Thanos awaiting them in the future. His eventual arrival meant Marvel Studios needed to expand the roster of characters in-universe rapidly, and that they did.

The scale of the MCU is evident in Avengers: Infinity War, where characters from nearly every one of their franchises join forces to try and stop Thanos. The full strength of the universe was not enough to stop Thanos, leaving half as many characters around for Avengers: Endgame. The movie served as the conclusion of the Infinity Saga, with Thanos being removed from multiple realities, the Infinity Stones being reduced to atoms, and main characters dying as those previously dusted returned.

For many of those reasons, Avengers: Endgame completely changed what the MCU will look like moving forward. But, those are just a few of the major differences that await the incredibly successful universe in Phase 4 and beyond. Whether it's the passing of mantles, major deaths, or alternate timelines, check out 25 ways the MCU will never be the same after Avengers: Endgame by watching the video featured at the top of this post.

MCU Avengers Team Members After Endgame

With so many changes made to the MCU, it'll undoubtedly take fans and the characters in the universe to adjust to this new look MCU. Falcon becoming Captain America is a significant change for everyone, and the retirement of Steve Rogers could leave both Falcon and Bucky feeling a bit out of place now. Meanwhile, the MCU now has a smart version of Hulk running around, a more deadly version of Hawkeye, Tony Stark's offspring, and an older Cassie Lang ready to be a hero. These storylines and many more can all be factors in Phase 4, while multiple realities and the time jump could have lasting impacts on the MCU.

In addition to these changes mentioned above, one of the most notable for audiences could be who's part of the next Avengers roster - if there even is one at all. Without Iron Man, Steve Rogers, Black Widow, and possibly Hulk and Hawkeye, the roster could look significantly different next time a group of heroes assembles in the MCU. Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange all appear to be ready to step up, while Valkyrie, Wasp, Ant-Man, and more could also join the ranks. Plus, there are all the new characters set to be introduced in the films and on the multiple Disney+ series who could get involved thanks to how Avengers: Endgame ends.
