The latest set photos from Marvel's The Avengers 4 confirm previous reports of the film taking a trip to Japan. While The Avengers: Infinity War finished filming just a few weeks ago, the Russo Brothers have already begun principal photography on The Avengers 4, which is set to hit theaters one year after Infinity War. And despite not much being known about how The Avengers 4 will pick up where Infinity War left off, it's clear at this point that both of the next two Avengers films will at least feature more international locations than possibly any of the other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

That's fitting, with Infinity War being called the "culmination" of the entire MCU up until this point, that the films would have the kind of scope and large, globe-trotting adventure feel to match the magnitude of its premise. But one of the more interesting rumors from the past few weeks, was that The Avengers 4 would be filming in Japan for some portions of its production schedule, with casting for Japanese gangsters and cafe patron extras underway. This led many to think the film could include the Yakuza in some form or another, which was then made even more likely by a report that said Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and the Yakuza could cross paths at some point in the film.

Now, AtlantaFilming (H/T MCU_Tweets) has posted some of the first photos from the set of The Avengers 4, which include the first looks at the film's Tokyo, Japan set and some of its extras. You can check out the shots for yourself in the space below:

These photos still don't confirm the Yakuza's heavily-rumored involvement in the film, or if Johansson's Black Widow will have any kind of interaction with them. However, it is looking more and more like the Tokyo segment of The Avengers 4 will feature prominently in it, which makes the possibility of the Yakuza appearing at least slightly more likely than it was a few weeks ago, when the original rumor first made it way online.

Notably, none of these set photos feature any of the film's main actors or members of the Avengers team, which leaves the connection to the Japan storyline and the film's main Avengers vs Thanos conflict shrouded in even more mystery for the time being. But with there still being several months of production left on The Avengers 4, it's possible that some of the film's recognizable cast members could be spotted on the Japan set at some point moving forward. And for all anyone knows, if they are spotted, it could very well be with them standing alongside some Yakuza gang members as well.
