Robert Downey Jr. has shared another photo from the set of Avengers: Infinity War showing a few of the principal cast members in between takes, including our first look at Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange on set.

With production on Infinity War having been in full swing for months now, we've seen precious little from the actual film but plenty of casual photos of the actors just hanging out. That's partially the appeal of these films, however, so seeing these actors together in the same photo even if they aren't saving the world at the moment still elicits a thrill.

Downey Jr. has been a consistent source for these kinds of behind-the-scenes looks, and he shared another one this afternoon of himself, Cumberbatch, Mark Ruffalo, and Doctor Strange's Benedict Wong eating lunch together on the Atlanta set of the film. Cumberbatch and Wong appear to be in costume as their characters, though Cumberbatch is wearing sweatpants and some sort of blue top. It's hard to decipher much about their roles in the film as they enjoy a nice healthy lunch with Downey and Ruffalo, beyond just the visual of four of the smartest individuals in the MCU posing for the camera:

If one looks closely, Downey's shirt is slightly ripped and torn where his arc-reactor used to be, but since that was removed after Iron Man 3, maybe it implies ee also has been filming some sort of action sequence out of his armor. Ruffalo, meanwhile, appears to be in casual clothing that may or may not be a costume. Since a lot of the work he does on these Avengers films are in motion capture as the Hulk, it's not clear whether or not he's working on this day.

Cumberbatch reported to the set sometime last week to shoot his scenes for Infinity War, per confirmation by his movement coachInfinity War's production will run right through into production on the currently untitled fourth Avengers film, which will be released a year after Infinity War in May of 2019. As expected, the films are on a massive scale, with Josh Brolin's Thanos completing the Infinity Gauntlet and launching an all-out assault on Earth that only the Avengers can stop. All hands are on deck for this major blockbuster event, as Black Widow actress Scarlett Johansson recently alluded to over sixty characters in the film and over thirty in one sequence.

The thrill of seeing these characters together just enjoying a nice afternoon snack should be enough to suffice for now, as audiences still have three Marvel films on the way before the big team-up next May.
