The MCU cast get the comic book treatment in an excellent new piece of fan art. Comic book adaptations and shared universes are dominating the film industry, with Marvel Studios and Warner Bros. regularly topping the box office. While most of these films are not exact copies of their source material, sometimes they do take scenes as in the comic panels to the delight of many fans all over the world. It’s less common when a character, plot, or scene jumps from the big screen to the pages but it has happened a few times.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues expanding and is currently preparing its biggest event: Avengers: Infinity War, which will bring together most of the current superheroes in the MCU in order to defeat Thanos. Infinity War is loosely based on the comic series Infinity Gauntlet but will have some major changes – especially in regards to hows its characters look. Luckily, there are some very talented fans out there that can show us how the Infinity War team would look like if it was in the comics.

Carrillo Art Studios has created a piece inspired by the upcoming Avengers film depicting the superheroes confirmed to appear in the film fighting Thanos (Josh Brolin) – all in the style of classic Marvel comics, with most of the heroes sporting their traditional costumes. And extended version on the Facebook page extends the image to include non-movie characters The Defenders and properties outside the MCU, like the X-Men.

The main illustration features the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Avengers, the New Avengers, Spider-Man, Black Panther, War Machine, Winter Soldier, and Doctor Strange. The big absentee is Nebula (Karen Gillian), who will join the Guardians in the battle against her step-father. Conversely, featured in the illustration but not in the film is Captain Marvel (played by Brie Larson). The final touch is given by the “The Infinity War” title on the lower left corner, very much like a piece taken from a comic.

Avengers: Infinity War, set four years after the events in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 , will have the Avengers (who were torn apart after Captain America: Civil War) joining forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy to battle the ultimate threat: Thanos, who is collecting the Infinity Stones for the gauntlet, allowing him immense power on many levels.

Lucky attendees at this year’s D23 Expo and San Diego Comic Con had the chance to watch the first teaser for the film, which according to descriptions, was packed with action from most of the superheroes confirmed to appear. The rest of the world will have to wait a bit longer to watch the first official trailer, but until then, we can enjoy amazing pieces of art like the one from Carrillo Art Studios and prepare for whatever the trailer may bring.
