If you're craving more information for Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron, we've got you covered. It remains unconfirmed if there will be a new Avengers 2 trailer releasing next week during the midseason premiere of Agents of SHIELD, but we will have more exciting coverage from our visit to the set last June coming up very shortly.

In the meantime, Marvel has been keeping followers of the Marvel Cinematic Universe busy with Agent Carter on ABC (finale tonight!) and promoting their Netflix series, Daredevil, which airs in April. On the film front, new tie-in toys for Ant-Man and Age of Ultron are making headlines alongside loads of promotional artwork. Still, despite the sheer amount of imagery and assets available, Marvel has been holding back on officially revealing the new character Vision (Paul Bettany). And that holds true today with the first official Avengers: Age of Ultron team poster.

Marvel tweeted from the official Avengers Twitter account for the first time in a week to share a brand new one-sheet featuring the entire main team (newcomers included) battling an army of Ultron sentries. Just like the conceptual art posters released for the movie last summer at San Diego Comic-Con, Vision is concealed in the background with the emphasis placed on the returning core six characters. It's mediocre at best in its visual design, but it is revealing when it comes to the text at the bottom.

Avengers 2: Age of Ultron Poster One-Sheet (Team shot)

Note the word "main" in our previous statement. While Nick Fury is on this poster, we know his right hand Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) has a signifcant role to play too. We also know from the Avengers: Age of Ultron photos and trailers so far that Tony Stark's best pal James "Rhodey" Rhodes will be in the movie too. There have been rumors that other characters, new and old, will make cameo apperances, with Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) potentially recruiting new future Avengers by the end of the movie.

Now however, we finally have confirmation that Rogers' new ally from Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Sam Wilson a.k.a. Falcon (Anthony Mackie), will be joining the Avengers in the sequel as well. Sort of. The bottom of the poster reads the official credits of the film and confirms several appearances we already knew of: Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), Heimdall (Idris Elba), Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard) and for the first time, Anthony Mackie.

From what Elba said of shooting a sequence with a certain other special guest (spoilers here), there are three ways a Falcon appearance will likely be worked into writer and director Joss Whedon's Age of Ultron script:

  1. He shows up at the Avengers party since he's a friend and close ally of Steve Rogers
  2. He shows up in a dream sequence the Avengers suffer from at the hands of Scarlet Witch
  3. He shows up at the end if Rogers does recruit new Avengers (based on this previous report)

As wonderful as it will be to see these characters return on the biggest Marvel Studios production to date, don't expect Falcon to suit up alongside Earth's Mightiest just yet. His time will come though in Captain America: Civil War and The Avengers: Infinity War.

Also of note on the poster is Danny Elfman's name. We know Brian Tyler, who composed the scores of Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World, will be composing on Avengers: Age of Ultron but the new inclusion of Elfman's name means he will be contributing as well. Elfman of course, was the composer on Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy and Ang Lee's Hulk, so we can only hope he's bringing a unique spin to scenes featuring these two characters. We say these "two" since Spider-Man is joining the MCU and  Marvel and Sony will waste absolutely no time in letting moviegoers know this. It's possible Spider-Man gets a cameo or post-credits button sequence in Avengers 2.
