Avengers Ant Man vs. Ultron Avengers 2 and Ant Man Rumored Costume & Story Details

Marvel has Guardians of the Galaxy to launch in the latter section of summer 2014, and then it’s on to 2015, where we will see a big Phase 2 finish in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, followed by the kick-off to Phase 3 in Ant-Man later that same summer. As the two big Marvel movies of next year, both Avengers 2 and Ant-Man are currently in production – with the former faring much better than the latter. Along with production come rumors, and today’s rumors concern costume and plot details for the 2015 films.

Needless to say, POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOLLOW – so if you don’t want to have your Avengers 2 or Ant-Man experience ruined for you, then don’t read any further.

Here’s the report by JoBlo, broken down into bullet points summaries:

Avengers: Age of Ultron

avengers age ultron logo Avengers 2 and Ant Man Rumored Costume & Story Details

  • Previous reports about the opening of the film are seemingly true, confirmed by another source. A battle with Baron von Strucker, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, followed by a “Stark-style” party.
  • Avengers Tower will be a huge set piece/base. Banner and Stark will have a lab together – big hanger for modified team Quinjets – the works.
  • Costume updates include what we’ve seen for Cap and Hawkeye in set photos; Black Widow will have batons, enhanced stinger tech and a “TRON-style” look; Hulk will have size-changing pants; Iron Man will have Mark 43 (variation on Iron Man 3 design) and Mark 44 (Hulkbuster) armors. Everyone will sport Avengers “A” logos.
  • Ultron will look like something made out of Coulson’s Destroyer gun from Avengers. A “Balrog/LOTR” smoldering underneath an articulated face (James Spader mo-cap). Vision will look like the classic red, green and gold version (Paul Bettany in makeup) with a very shiny veneer.

Ant Man Movie Logo Fan Made Avengers 2 and Ant Man Rumored Costume & Story Details

  • Opens with the classic story of Scott Lang as a single dad moonlighting a thief, who steals the Ant-Man suit from Hank Pym.
  • The villain is industrialist Darren Cross of Cross Technological Enterprises (a Stark Industries rival). He will have a suit similar to Ant-Man’s, only yellow and black in color and more militarized. His cousin is the villain known as Crossfire.
  • The Ant-Man suit will be “elaborate” with Iron Man-style helmet opening, and another “TRON-style” aesthetic, using red lights in the eyes and suit.
  • Ant-Man WILL have the ability to speak to ants, and it will be a focus of his powers in the film.

Nothing TOO revolutionary, here. The Avengers 2 information further evidences what we’ve already heard about the opening of the film, or what we’ve seen in set photos and concept art reveals. A more fully-formed and experienced Avengers team sounds like an exciting prospect greeting us in Age of Ultron - and the costume updates sound promising (and look fine, from what we’ve seen). Vision sounds like a faithful adaptation all the way – and Ultron sounds like something that will be worthy of center-stage villainy. Is his Destroyer-like appearance any clue to his revised origin story? We’ll see; it’s the MCU, so connections are always possible…

Ultron Marvel Comics Annihilation Conquest 5 Avengers 2 and Ant Man Rumored Costume & Story Details

With Ant-Man, there’s more to discuss. First of all, the villain stuff:

Actor Matt Gerald (Avatar, G.I. Joe 2) has been confirmed as a villain in Ant-Man, and Gerald is a character actor who specializes in henchman-types. He could easily be a villain like Crossfire (that is, if he isn’t reprising his Marvel one-shot character). Meanwhile, Patrick Wilson has been cast in the film in an “important role” we know little about; could he be playing the villain, Darren Cross? Or is he (as early speculation indicated) a young version of Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym? Don’t forget that Corey Stoll (House of Cards) is still possible attached to the film, and could easily fit into the bad guy side of things (as mastermind or henchman).

Second, let’s discuss the overall story:

On paper this rumored plot synopsis sounds like Iron Man: Redux. Charming unscrupulous type gets himself into trouble and uses tech to get out of it – along the way finding the moral recalibration to become a hero and take down a power-mad industrialist? That sound about right?

marvel ant man director Avengers 2 and Ant Man Rumored Costume & Story Details

If this is indeed the case, one begins to wonder if it wasn’t the cookie-cutter nature of the story that led director Edgar Wright to drop his passion project of nearly a decade. It now falls to director Peyton Reed (Yes Man, Bring It On) and contributing writer Adam McKay (Anchorman) to find the balance between Marvel hero origin and tongue-and-cheek comedy about a ridiculous superhero (come on, admit it – to the average person?…). It won’t be easy, but with leads like Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lily involved, it can be done (Wasp FTW!).

  1. i really like the sounds of widows new costume with a tron style. there are some concept of it from previous movies so it looks like its happening now lol

  2. dont know much about vision. im just really excited to see how they do it. its a weird design. i wonder how much detail it will have like with it have a moving mouth? just stuff like that… or is it like iron man and just speaks with out any movements.

  3. When the hell is marvel gonna abandon this antman crap and make a black panther movie. There is no way antman is gonna make money since Edgar wrights departure fanboys panties are in a bunch and the characters most interesting aspect (ultron) has been taken away from him. Just make a black panther movie I know its risking making a movie with a black lead but at least it will be a fresh start from this train wrack.

    • *wreck

    • Breathe jit! Breathe…Now tell us what you really think.-lol By the way; I agree with you.

    • Ant-man will make money just fine. I’m a big fan of heist movies. So, a Marvel heist movie YES PLEASE! Marvel is really really really tip-toeing with a Black Panther movie. It has been stated Marvel has fears of offending a peoples, a whole country or worst a continent by a poor portrayal of Wakanda/Africa. I personally feel if they take ideas from Thor: the Dark World’s Asgard and Lion King it will do great. And I’d watch to crap out of it!

      • Well, it’s like CinemaSinsJeremy said in a video letter to Disney a few weeks back on Youtube. Captain America 2 only made as much money as it did in the US because it was a real action movie and we haven’t had one of those in years so audiences flocked to see it.

        • Not because it was a genuinely great movie and had good word of mouth?

        • Your comment have nothing to do with mine… shoo shoo… Kevin Feige spoke on his reluctance to make Black Panther in fear of offending.

          • Dazz’s comment was relevant to yours. You said Ant-man will make money if it’s a heist movie and Dazz was agreeing with you and backing that up by saying Cap 2 succeded because it was in the same vein as 80′s action movies. Dazz’s comment had everything to do with your first three sentences and wasn’t a reply to the second part of your comment. You both were talking about good genre films succeeding. And please don’t say ‘shoo shoo’ as it makes you sound arrogant (heck, you’re the one with a picture of a mouse for an avatar, we should be telling you to shoo :] ). Hope that clears up any misunderstanding but please read carefully next time.

            • The next time I mention Cinemasins let the celebration begin. As I stated it has nothing to do with mine other than it being a Marvel property. You must be behind. refer to my previous to get you up to speed, cupcake. In the words of a royal and great warrior “I’m not arrogant I’m just the best”. If I EVER need lessons from the likes of yourself I’d just drink sewage. There would be more substance than whatever you’re trying to force fed me.

oh, and sweetheart that “mouse” is in the image of Mickey Mouse synonymous with Disney…owner of the Marvel movies in which we speak? Yes? No? You don’t “shoo” Mickey. Sweetheart you bow. Hopefully now that I put you in you place. things can go on swimmingly. My comment stands. Now *sigh* shoo shoo.

              • ▒█░░░ ▀█▀ ▒█░▄▀ ▒█▀▀▀ ░█▀▀█ ▒█▀▀█ ▒█▀▀▀█ ▒█▀▀▀ ▒█▀▀▀

        • because cinemasins jeremy is the end all be all of movie knowledge?

    • I was with you until you said Black Panther, I think they need more female leads before they add anymore male ones, regardless of the skin color.

      • I would really like a female superhero movie also. Ms. Marvel in a smart version of her black costume with flowing locks then have her graduate to Captain Marvel in the navy, red, and yellow uniform with a faux hawk and helmet styled mask. And with Guardians of the galaxy introducing us to the Kree in the MCU maybe thats just one step closer

And seeing you’re disregarding skin color SHE-HULK NEEDS TO EXIST IN THE MCU! hahahaha Seriously, They can use the same technology that was used in LotR and the Hobbit to make the actress taller. Just have her pull a Clark Kent when shes playing Jennifer Walters to hid the fact the actress is fit or put her head on a different body.

        • No matter what character you add next, if you add black male super heroes then female super heroes are unrepresented, you add a female super hero then you have the complaints about racial equality in the MCU. I’m bias towards adding a female because I’m a Ms. Marvel fan. I agree that I would like to see her in the black (but I think it should be changed so its less of a swimsuit, not that I would complain). The Captain Marvel uniform has grown on me, I’m just not a fan of the helmet. I also agree Guardians is one step closer, hopefully she will appear before Thanos. I’m guessing she will, I think most of the current Avengers will be changed out as they refuse to sign new contracts.

Honestly, I don’t really know all that much about She-Hulk, so why not!

    • We need Doctor Strange 1st

  4. A black and yellow militarized looking suit? Sounds like if they get that suit back, someone can become Wasp or better yet, someone else could become Yellow Jacket.

  5. And don’t forget other rumours that we’ve previously heard about Age of Ultron:

    (1) There will be at least three versions of Ultron’s look, constantly upgrading himself with raw vibranium
    (2) Vision will appear in the third act of the film, possibly as Tony’s “secret weapon”
    (3) Tony Stark will have an army of Iron Man suit drones to keep the peace
    (4) There will also be a bunch of “Avengers Recruits” training in uniform
    (5) The opening act will likely be the Avengers teaming up to fight Baron von Strucker, and meeting Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch for the first time
    (6) The avengers will be attacked at their HQ / training facilities
    (7) Possible romance between Black Widow and Bruce Banner
    (8) Possible cameos by Iron Patriot/War Machine, Falcon, and Agent Triplett from AoS

…there might’ve been more that I missed, but so far this looks like it’s shaping up to be a very interesting story

    • I actually heared that War Machine will have much more than a cameo. Don Cheadle already confirmed he’s in the movie. I heard that he would have an important role in AoU.

      • Right! I remember hearing that too. But I hadn’t heard anything since then. Hopefully it’s true.

        • You would think he has an important role, considering Tony is now taking the place of shield as the “worlds defense” maybe War Machine is now like the leader of the Defense Program for Stark Industires?

          • That would be so cool, and make a lot of sense! It would also perfectly position Rhodey for a solo movie that better fits with the continuity of the MCU, like Cap 2, and not just another stand-alone film like all the Iron Man and Thor films so far.

      • Ah man, I want Don to don the armor like a Don at the movie’s dawn!

    • Also, another possible, minor(?) rumour: the relationship between Thor and Jane Foster would have ended by this point. I forget where I read that, but it’s interesting since the Black Widow + Bruce Banner relationship also suggests that his relationship with Betty Ross has also ended.

      • In my view, Banner has been away from Betty for so long at this point, that she may well have moved on from him now. Especially if he hasn’t contacted her since he went public in a very big, very green way in New York. So that may have just fizzled out over time. Plus, dinner with the in-laws would be even more awkward than usual.

As for Jane and Thor, I’ve always wondered how much chemistry they would really have on a day-to-day basis. I mean, they had this red-hot fling when he first came to Earth, and then he was gone for upwards of two years. Then he came back and the romance was rekindled, but now that he’s here to stay, what would they have to talk about? Am I supposed to believe Thor would have a quiet night in, ordering pizza and watching a movie with his girlfriend? Could Jane possibly relate to stories of his Asgardian past? I’ve always thought once the honeymoon phase of their relationship was over, there wouldn’t really be anywhere else they could go.

        • Read some of the Thor/Jane fan fiction to see how they came up with day-to-day living. I think the older comics dealt with that some as well. I doubt the break up is part of the plot; but if it were, maybe the Avenger work drove them apart. The problem for Jane is: who could she date after Thor? The men on Earth would be too jealous and insecure about the Mighty Avenger. (Look at the rumored hammer-lifting contest in the movie. It’s an exercise in proving manhood.) Jane shouldn’t have to hide her past relationship with Thor just so she could have an Earth guy. She should be able to tell him and Earth guy should not feel threatened by an ex-love. If the Thor/Jane/Richard business goes down, Richard & Jane would go bust. The way he acted in The Dark World Richard wouldn’t be able to accept Jane’s relationship with Thor and he would reject her.

By the second act of the film, the grand army of Tony Stark’s armor suits (whom are keeping the peace) transcend into tools of malice once placed in the control of Ultron, adding to the dark/austere tone of the film as Joss Whedon proposed there will be.

      • That makes a lot of sense, and would be the obvious progression for the story. But I don’t actually ever remember reading that rumour reported anywhere… maybe I missed it?

    • I will go ballistic if Vision is Stark’s “secret weapon”

Vision has and always SHOULD be a product of Ultron. This is extremely important for his character development because he starts off a slave to the master and gains both his freedom and individuality/humanity in the end.

      • I might have phrased it improperly when I said “Tony’s secret weapon”. From what I understand, Ultron will still create Vision. I think I also vaguely remember hearing something about a costume change. So it’s possible that he will start off as a bad guy working for Ultron, costumed in all silver (as rumours originally reported on Paul Bettany’s first day of shooting). But then by the third act, he will become a good guy (hence, “secret weapon”), and then be probably costumed in his traditional yellow and green.

        • ok, that’s better :)

And that falls in line with the original story (overlooking the absence of Pym of course ;) )

    • According to Whedon he’s killing off an Avenger as well. You can rule out out Cap, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk and Black Widow. Hawkeye, maybe? War Machine/Iron Patriot could also be a good shout.

      • Yeah! That’s something I’m not looking forward to. No matter who dies, I’m going to be very sad :(

        Then again, comic book deaths…

      • Captain america will die in act 3 after cap 3 thats the 6 films evans signed for then, bucky barnes will take ova the mantle ther was loads of hints at this in the winter soldier, i think thanos kills cap and shatters his shield caps sacrifice ends the fight something like that , id really like that story and would love to see bucky take over from cap anyone else agree ??

      • Iron man is going to die

  6. I have this little theory that somehow, the Time Gem wil be used on Hank Pym; so that way, in Avengers 3, we can have Scott Lang as Ant-Man, and we can have a young version of Hank Pym as Giant-Man or Yellow Jacket. Fingers crossed the rumors are true about a young Hank Pym being played by Patrick Wilson.

    • in…ter…es…ting….hmmm I LIKE IT!

    • New rumour popped up since this article was posted saying Patrick Wilson might end up playing Crossfire and that Stoll is definitely gonna be Darren Cross.

    • If Yellowjacket is a villain in this film then perhaps Rita DeMara from the Masters of Evil and Guardians of the Galaxy is Yellowjacket. No mention of the other MCU characters that were added to the script and resulted in Wright’s departure. Nova and Moon Knight still have to be introduced to the MCU prior to CAP 3.

  7. Who has confirmed that the Latino Review leak is true? I haven’t seen anything official from Marvel, and the more established entertainment blogs and mags (Hollywood Reporter, EW) are not running the 20-minute leak story. Until then, I’ll take it as a rumor. Kevin Feige showed a few minutes of Avengers 2 at CineEurope yesterday. I would like to hear the report on that.

    • Crew members, cameramen, make-up artists, set designers, (rarely some) producers, accountants, graphic designers, special effects team, extras, and basically anyone affiliated to those people whom are affiliated to the movie. Rumors can be credible, and in some cases, proved to be valid (most of those rumors being conceived within Latino Review). You cannot always rely on the sole word of a higher-ranked official overseeing the movie to confirm these rumors for you(remember how J.J Abrams proclaimed that ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ will not feature Khan as an antagonist).

      • Plus in my 2 years on this site reading rumours reported by Latino Review, they’ve been right a lot more times than they’ve been wrong, which is why I fail to understand why a few people here instantly dismiss a SR article if LR is the source.

You also have to remember, most of the AOU leaks and info are coming from people not affiliated with the film in any way and taking pictures and videos from open air filming (like at Avengers Academy).

      • The people you have cited most likely signed non-disclosure agreements with Marvel Studios. If they run to the tabloids or blogs with plot information they’re fired and likely blackballed in the industry. Latino Review better be paying their “source” a king’s ransom for that person to risk unemployment and an end to his/her career. Marvel Studio brass wants to control what is teased to the public; it wouldn’t appreciate a subordinate undermining its efforts. It would cost more in production time just to un-do the damage the “source” allegedly told Latino Review.

  8. So Yellow Jacket is going to be a villain? That wouldn’t surprise me because there’s no way Hank Pym becomes Yellow Jacket in the movie so changing the character and making him a rival makes sense!

    • Does this mean Rita DeMara has been added to the cast?

  9. Thank God they are Changing Black Widows outfit its about dam time they change it, the old one she has is too lame and dual, If Black Widow wore the outfit that Skarlet in G.I Joe the Movie wore back in 2009 that would be hot I hope her outfit looks something like Skarlets in G.I Joe or even Tron would look good in a black Lacy outfit

Now as far as Iron man I wasnt to convinced about the Mark 42 or 43 I liked his Mark 7 armor better (The Avengers) and Mark 5 (Iron Man 2) way better then all the ones ive seen. I hope if they bring back the Mark 42 or 43 that they do some slight changes on the size of the armor it looks to dual and fat

    • I dunno about you, pal, but I could never grow tired of watching Scarlett Johansson strut around in skintight leather…but, hey, to each their own, I guess…

    • THE MARK 43 IS A COLOR SWAP OF THE MARK 42!….. SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE! wa-wait you saying dual but meaning dull?

  10. MEh he more i hear about antman the more annoying it seems.

  11. There are A LOT of Avengers so far. I mean Cap, Iron-Man, Thor, Hulk, Widow, Hawk. Then you have members (that arent so official yet) like; Iron Patriot, Falcon and Vision. Then it’s obvious that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch will join later on. On top of that, Black Panther, Ant-Man, Dr. Strange and Ms. Marvel will be introduced. I’m actully pretty okay with this being the full line up for the next 4 to 6 years because that’s a dope team. IDK any other Avengers characters that can be introduced since most of the other important members are owned by Fox and Sony. Maybe they could introduce The Wasp. Any other members I could be missing?

    • Idk if they were planning on making the netflix series characters part of the roster at some point but there is them too

      • The Netflix characters are going to team up as the Defenders, so odds are they’ll keep them separate from the Avengers. Doctor Strange and Ant-Man (the Scott Lang version at least) have strong ties to that group of characters as well, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they gravitated towards the Defenders as well.

Bear in mind that Marvel tried (unsuccessfully) to get the rights for the Fantastic Four back, and not too long after we got this Netflix announcement. It wouldn’t surprise me if Marvel plans to use at least some of the newer characters (Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Luke Cage, etc) as an alternative – do the same sort of mystical / otherworldly stories that you would otherwise do with the Fantastic Four, and let the Guardians of the Galaxy pick up the cosmic slack.

  12. Ant man will talk to cocroachs too. It is also rumored that there will be a big ant party at the beginning of the movie. Ant man is the bouncer of this huge party. Ultron and his love c3po will be in the movie too. Vision will fall in love with ironman… Thor and hulk will fight to the daeth the winner gets balck widow.

  13. The set photo shows Mark “43″ is just a color swap of the Mark 42 from Iron Man 3… Nothing apparently different… lazy. Unless they need it to be destroy it a la MK VII

And I get the Avengers’ info. But where are they pulling Ant-man content seeing it’s still in pre-production…

    • There is a script, as well as storyboards. Just because they haven’t begun filming yet doesn’t mean there aren’t any sources of story information.

      • Whaaaaaaaaaaut a script AND storyboard?! Well, isn’t that fancy… barking up the wrong beanstalk. Move along.
wOW, where are they pulling Ant-man content seeing it’s still in pre-production…

        • The rumours we’re talking about involve story and costume details. As Jack said, ‘Ant-man’, just like most movies about to start shooting, has a script and would have story boards. Rumours about story could originate from the script while storyboards detail in part how a costume looks as far as I know. The costumes should be ready before filming anyway. So even though you didn’t understand what he meant Jack was completely right in supporting the idea that although these rumours might not be true they can originate from somewhere and ‘could’ be legitimate at this stage. He answered your question “where are they pulling Ant-man content seeing it’s still in pre-production?” I get the feeling you don’t know what pre-production is and by the way Feige recently said ‘Ant-man’ will begin filming in August.

So Jack was barking up the right beanstalk, contrary to what you believe, and might’ve been very close to seeing the ‘Giant-man’/’Goliath’ at the top. You on the other hand misunderstood what he meant possibly because you appear to have gone on a wild ‘golden goose’ chase as you spun around in circles Spinner (sorry for the jokes but you started it). No offence meant by the way but please read more carefully in the future.

          • See my previous….blah blah sewage…oh you now the drill. But here’s a hail Mary. Sit on you hands the next time you think about vomiting in a comment box with a reply close to O’l Spinner. Now back to the message Hopefully now that I put you in you place. things can go on swimmingly. My comment stands. Now *sigh* shoo shoo.

  14. I have a hunch, that A2 will start as rumored, but end with Tony Stark’s Avengers not wanting to be as big as described…Leading to the reemergence of a Coulson lead SHIELD. But maybe my hunch is just bad posture. I’ve never been a big fan of Ant-Man but..I think this film just might turnout good.

  15. I think they should make the Ant-Man movie a Pym-centric story (leaving Lang out of it, and not making Pym an old man). That way, Pym could join the Avengers as Ant-Man, and then later become Giant-Man and Yellow Jacket.

    • Heck, an Ant-Man trilogy could look something like: Ant-Man, Ant-Man: The Giant, and Ant-Man: The Yellow Jacket.

      • Marvel has copyrighted the film rights to the Irredeemable Ant Man, therefore, O’Grady is getting a movie. Both Young and Old Pym were in Wright’s script.

  16. Here are a few thoughts…….

First part of the movie will be about Strucker…..Fury has known about him for a while (my theory) so Fury, Cap, Falcon Hawk and Window infiltrate his hideout….they fight the guards, maybe powered by the staff, the rest of the Avengers show up and in the ensuing battle the twins are “freed” and they fight everyone until someone, like Cap, persuades them to trust him. They finish up the battle with the capture of Strucker or his “death” and they head back to the tower (maybe Avengers tower at that point). They have the rumored party and the twins start to acclimate to being free again and part of a team/family.

Stark has been busy in his lab upgrading some of the teams tech as well as his own…wanting to spend more time with Pepper (help from Pym and Banner) and less on saving the world he develops a defense system that incorporates Jarvis and some bots that do the dirty work…Jarvis gets corrupted in some way (maybe Arnim Zola)and it creates a sub routine that develops into Ultron. Of course the programming was to protect humanity (Pym) and its biggest threat is humanity itself…hence Ultron eliminating the threat. Ultron wanting to replace humanity creates the Vision (maybe with Simon Williams help/coercion)….he creates it so well it revolts having too much of humanities embrace embedded in his consciousness (Simon Williams brain patterns?). Vision helps the Avengers and the twins defeat Ultron. Wanda fires the final blow with a powerful hex that disrupts Ultrons innards. Wanda and the vision hit it off….start of a romance….

I also think the new shield headed by Coulson will play a role….the training cadets seen are for shield….much of the rebuilding will play in the TV show. I also think by the end of the movie Fury will be back as director.

A credits easter egg will be showing that Ultron is not really gone….maybe something with Pym.

Another credits easter egg will be that of Thanos…maybe speaking with the Collector on his progress

It is fun to speculate on this stuff :-).

    • I like that theory. I am surprised Pepper is not in this one. At the end of Iron Man 3 Tony destroyed the suits and wanted to spend more time with her. Could their relationship be the one that’s in trouble because Tony is filling the global security vacuum left by S.H.I.E.L.D.’s collapse? Tony is not just tinkering suits now.

  17. Who is the guy in the picture above punching Ultron?

    • That’s Goliath WRECKING Ultron!

    • That’s Hank Pym, in his Giant-Man persona, inspired by the arc “Ultron Unlimited” written by Kurt Busiek. This image is from a flashback later on in the Avengers series, but I can’t recall the exact issue at the moment.

      • Goliath, not Giant-Man… sorry :)

        • Remember the early Goliath persona days when he had the blue and yellow costume? That was always my favorite incarnation of Pym as the big guy! Wish they would use that in an Avengers movie; I think it would look great!

          • Oh like the Goliath we’re all talking about right now?! Yeah, I remember him… right at the top of the page. IT’S BEEN AGES SINCE I SCROLLED UP THERE!

  18. The Sentry

    • The Sentry?! Where?

  19. Kevin Feige has confirmed a party in the opening sequences but not the relationship statuses. Is he gauging fan reaction in order to re-tool or junk those alleged story lines?

  20. A yellow and black, more militarised version of Ant-Man’s costume?

    So… Yellowjacket, basically?

  21. If The Sentry was a villain in an MCU film!! Man. Dude ripped Ares in half like a piece of paper! Anyway…
    2018 Avengers 3 roster:
    Iron Man-Captain America-Thor-Hulk
Black Widow – Hawkeye – War Machine- The Falcon- Scarlet Witch- Quicksilver-
Ant-Man- (Wasp?) Vision- Dr.Strange- Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage
By the time Avengers 3 comes out their could potentially be so many characters featured. Including the Defenders(4), Guardians(5) and Black Panther and Ms Marvel, Thanos might be taking on close to 25 characters…would Whedon even attempt that? Split into two films, the Infinity plot could really be something special.

  22. I think that the team should consist of the following.

    Captain America-Team Leader
    Iron Man-Second in Command
    Black Widow
    Hawk Eye

    War Machince
    Quick Sliler
    Scarlet Witch

I would like to see Ultron change his armor type after being beaten by the Avengers multiple times during the movie. I would like to see his final form powered by the staff. Their final battle would pit the original team plus Vision against Ultron. Then the recruits would take on a bunch of Ultron Minions.

I think the Party after missions is really cool get some character development for HawkEye and Bruce.

I would love it if The avengers didn’t beat ultron at the end but instead Thanos came in and defeated Ultron for the Gem that was powering him. Then he tells them he is headed to Asgod next.

That means Thor would inturn break up with Jane to return home to protect the rest of the gems and gaunlet.

    • Gold Standard, your name from JoJo?

      • No! What?

  23. Evangeline Lilly for The Wasp? Sounds good to me (speculation so far).
Crossfire has connections from all sorts of directions: Mockingbird, Moon Knight, etc., at least in the comics. A rival of Stark Industries? Hmmm….Stark=Avengers=Goliath? Wishing upon a star here.
I did not mind Ant-man’s costume in the test footage. Glad to see Vision may look like the Vision we usually think of in the “colorful clown” costume (hey, I do like that…kind of grows on you!).

  24. “If this is indeed the case (the plot), one begins to wonder if it wasn’t the cookie-cutter nature of the story that led director Edgar Wright to drop his passion project of nearly a decade”

If this is indeed the plot (quite generic btw), I doubt it has drastically changed in the last two weeks, which is the time Edgar Wright has not been involved in this…

Seriously Kofi, you can do better that than… if you have realible information on Edgar’s departure please share it, but no these statements…

    • there were a lot of factors. though the script change was the final straw. while it is disheartening, Edgar Wright refused to make Antman a part of the MCU. now what that entails as far as the story is concerned hasn’t been revealed. But he already altered the origins to fit his story. So why should he not be understanding when his has to be altered to fit the MCU?

A wise man once said, “Ant-man is Marvel’s baby, Edgar Wright was just the babysitter.”

      • Not sure why you replied to me.

I was merely pointing out to Kofi that just because Edgar is out we don’t have to start bad mouthing or boycotting this movie already. I am sure there will still be plenty of Wright’s elements in this movie, if any, for the timing and extended previous involvement.

        • There was a YouTube video a few weeks ago about how Edgar Wright does visual comedy. You should check it out if you haven’t seen it already. It really highlights what a director can add to the story, above and beyond what can be captured in a script or a storyboard. And if you look at Peyton Reed’s work as a director, you can damn well be sure that it’s going to be a completely different movie than what Edgar Wright had envisioned.

But I also think there has been a lot hate and negativity directed towards this project. With all this bad press, it might set expectations so low that the movie will be able to surpass it and people will still enjoy it.

          • That’s the problem, right? There is already quite a lot of animosity towards this movie because Edgar Wright left, so even if it succeedes in overcoming that, people will atill say that any good parts are thanks to Edgar Wright. Basically they are ready to hunt Marvel Studios and give no credit whatever happens.

In my opinion you can’t have it both ways, and more importantly, we should wait.

            • There will probably be some scenes that’ll feel distinctively like Edgar Wright, and some missed film-making opportunities that will feel decidedly like Peyton Reed. Unfortunately, there will be some choices that won’t clearly feel like Wright or Reed. For example, Yellowjacket as the villain? Is that Edgar Wright’s creative twist on his interpretation of the comics? Or is that Marvel’s way of putting the spotlight on another of their properties? This could make or break the film, but who deserves the credit?

        • be….cause I can? AND words like “Edgar”, “Wright”, “Ant-man” hmmm “movie” drew me in oh so close… I was merely commenting to Nightcrawler that until the full story is out one shouldnt condemn either party in agreement. I’m sure there will be Cornetto bit sprinkled all over the film!

      • “But he already altered the origins to fit his story. So why should he not be understanding when his has to be altered to fit the MCU?”

Very clever comment! I agree wholeheartedly with this. I might only be a minority here, but I’m not disappointed Wright left the project. I’m slightly pissed at him actually, for specifically having sold to Marvel the idea of making an Ant-Man movie about Lang instead of Pym in the first place. Now he’s left the project, leaving us stuck with a second-rate beige-painted Ant-Man as the lead and an old man Pym incapable of joining the Avengers to do heroing.

I’ve read other articles, and Feige had said that “Ant-Man is a very important player and a key Avenger” … well, that’s true: Hank Pym is. Not Scott Lang. Lang has never contributed to anything as an Avenger (he has never been in the roster for very long in the comics…). Scott Lang IS NOT A KEY AVENGER. At all. Never was.

So, Mr. Feige, what exactly are you saying? Right now, you’re just confusing the masses.

  25. nice costume. i really like it
