the anime adaptation (an 2 episode ova covering 3 of the 9 vols) is a pitifull shadow of what i could be if one took the time to try to make the whole story as Cameron seems to be interested in to, we’ll be not seen this before 2015 probably but it will sure be great as he plans to take the whole story an cover it with a trilogy divided by the phases of the story which take nearly 3 vols each.
for all that have seen the ovas but havent read the manga I recomend strongly doing so before call that a good adaptation.

the image implies it, but something worth mentioning is that cameron in battle angel is set to have a live cast working with the cgi(d) MAIN character..

should be very interesting, least this is what i read a while back

Really looking forward to Avatar. Can’t see it failing to make its money back at least so I guess it’s just a matter of how much profit it turns. The only problem I see is the massive hype surrounding it might cause a backlash if (when?) it fails to live up to the very, very high expectations for it.

As to a choice between Battle Angel (:Alita?) and The Dive, I’d rather see him make The Dive tbh. I’ve seen BA:A as it was meant to be, an awesome anime which explored the human condition (and kicked serious butt), I don’t hold much hope that a live-action version can improve upon it (see Blood: The Last Vampire for confirmation that some things are best left alone).

I guess I will always prefer an original to a re-telling. I will also always prefer an original movie to be made (regardless of the subject material) than running over the same old ground (what have we found…)?

I think all of the work Cameron is doing on Avatar is simply a precursor to the mind blowing piece of work that will be Battle Angel.

I’m definitely looking forward to Avatar – good or bad, it still looks like a hoot.

But I’m also rather perplexed by the rather limited-interest topic of deep-sea diving that seems to be Cameron’s fixation this last decade.

Deep-sea diving… Victorian-era romances… teen vampire soap operas… none of them interest me.

Cameron + water fixation: maybe he just has unresolved “issues”. The Dive: a love story in the middle of a dirty great bunch of flying piranhas. That’ll get it out of his system.

I guess this squashes my plans for Cameron to take back Terminator if he has all this work planned.
