I'm excited about this movie, and I think it may be a good thing there's no IMAX theater in my city to tempt me to see the small screening. I'd rather have my mind blown when I see the movie in it's entirety.
  • @pumpkin_king,

I agree with you. Although even though I COULD go to the IMAX in my nearest city (which is about a half hour away), I want to keep the 3D IMAX experience for December 18th. I want to get the best out of the experience, and that means waiting.

Definitely. I think that's what made Cloverfield so great of an experience for me, despite all the people talking about the dizziness of the camera. I did as little research as I could before the release of the movie, then I looked everything up afterwards. It's now one of my favorite movies. They did a great job not promoting it too heavily before the release.

I'm there for the footage. I don't want to wait until December.

Dammit, I think I will also just intentionally wait until the movie instead of seeing this footage even if it's available in my city, but I doubt it is. I do want to see the trailer though.
  • Vin
I hope is does well but I dont think it'll be as epic as everyone thinks.
  • Vin
    oops sorry 'it' does well

Looks like they're counting on a positive viral buzz to get people into the film. They would have more of an impact if they made the tickets available at IMAX theaters and had multiple viewings to accommodate the extra amount of people.
This would generate long lines and that would make the news giving the film worldwide buzz.

Naw just make the tickets limited and online... Smart move FOX smart indeed... ;-)

I agree with the pumpkin king....after Star Trek, HP and District 9, the year ends with AVATAR! Hell yes!
  • Ken J
Why is it all I can think of for HP is Hot Pockets? Maybe I'm just too hungry... lol

I think the screening is a great way to promote this movie. To be honest it might appear to be getting hyped in the gaming and movie world but most people I have actually talked to in person have never even heard of this. I know I find it very hard to believe but not everyone reads screenrant :) I think this will pay off in the long run and will pull even more people in on opening day. The reviews from the people who viewed it at comic con have all been pretty positive so I'm expecting big things outta this one.

If could wait for 12 long Y-E-A-R-S, I can easily wait for 4 more months to see it FINALLY (at last, it's here!) in IMAX on December 18th. But may be I will get my hands on the trailer.

But the 16-min footage is a strict NO-NO for me.
