the a team trailer The A Team Trailer Officially Released

The first official trailer for The A-Team has been released and it’s something you’re going to want to see. A lower quality leaked version appeared online recently only to be taken down in most places at the studio’s request but we wanted to wait for the real thing before sharing.

The trailer keeps the classic music and feel of the television series as well as most of the key characters of the A-Team members but really pushes the action to the extreme. See for yourself and you’ll understand.

Alongside Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s “Less gold, more muscle” take on B.A. Baracus, a role originally made famous by Mr.T, The A-Team stars Liam Neeson as Col. John “Hannibal” Smith, Bradley Cooper as Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck and last but not least, District 9’s Sharlto Copley as “Howling Mad” Murdock. Joining the male action heroes is also Jessica Biel as Faceman’s ex and an Army general.

Check out the trailer:

For me the characters look great but it’s hard to tell how closely they’ll resemble what we remember from the series. I think Liam Neeson looks and acts perfect and I already love his character. I’ve always been a fan of Bradley Cooper and I’m excited to see what antics Sharlto Copley will bring to the table.

The character that will bring the most love-hate from the fans however, is Quinton “Rampage” Jackson acting like “B.A.” Baracus. No one can re-enact what Mr.T brought to the character and for the filmmakers trying to make him more muscle and comedy and less mean and less gold, that doesn’t fly either because too many love and expect the classic Mr.T. It’s a catch 22 situation for Jackson.

Sadly, despite confirmed guest appearances by original A-Team actors Dwight Schultz & Dirk Benedict, Mr.T will not be having a cameo in The A-Team. Though the the A-Team‘s van is certainly a part of the movie!

  1. @ Vic

If u haven’t already done so just search Rampage Jackson UFC or something like that. He has been in a few str to dvd films most of them backed or produced by UFC, and u will know a bit more about him. And I do agree with you that it was kinda ackward to see Quinton Rampage Jackson as Baracus, it jsut seemed “off”.

On a different note, I could nto stop laughing at how cheesy the trailer was when i saw it yesterday during the previews before daybreakers. I’ll still see it jsut because its the A-Team.

  2. I don’t care if it’s good or not good – it looks relatively all right…I just hope it’s good enough to do the series some justice. I was a Dirk Benedict groupie as a young girl (totally hardcore little groupie) and I watched the show every night it came on, taped episodes, etc.

I agree it’s a mistake to not get a seasoned/skilled actor to play B.A.; I mean, hats off to these wrestlers who want to go into acting, but it’s a bummer when they cast them for the muscles, not the acting chops – especially when remaking one of the TV shows that I grew up with religiously. Who knows? Maybe he’ll surprise us and do a great job! That would be fantastic! :)

And yeah, if he gets on a plane, I’m out of the theatre. :-P

  3. Wait?!?! Dirk Benedict and Dwight Schultz have cameos? I’m definitely seeing it. :-)

    Too bad Mr. T won’t…

  4. @ Billychic, first off Rampage is a cage fighter not a wrestler. And do you think that back in the day they got Mr T to play the part of B.A because of his acting chops? No, they got him because of his body. If this movie turns out to be just ok then it will do 100 times better than the tv show. And to me it looks like it could be some fun.

  5. Some of you seem to forget that Mr. T is a terrible actor. I’m sure Rampage can give a performance of the same caliber as a no talent hack muscle bound idiot like T.

Some of you are asking for a better actor, but think long and hard who could they of gotten? Lets take a look at the talented black actors we have… Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Forest Witiker, Morgan Freeman and even more guys about that size. Any of those guys look like a good MR. T replacement?

  6. To be honest I don’t think Mr T was acting when playing B.A. He just got up in the morning, straightened his mohawk and there he was.

    I’ll go see this too.

  7. I have to admit that I was never that much of an A-Team fan when I was younger, but I must say, this movie looks like it could be a lot of fun.

  8. @Daniel F

My complaint is regarding them changing the tone of the character, not saying that Mr T is a better actor.

  9. Sorry Vic that wasn’t really aimed at you. At least two other people have said they should of cast a more talented actor. I’m merely asking them who they think would be a viable choice. I mean really when it comes to this movie they will either be pissed that some Wrestler or MMA fighter got casted or that some talened actor who looks nothing like MR T got cast.

  10. Looks promising at the very least. Seems to be right line with the rest of the popcorn summer action movies we’ve been seeing lately. I’m not gonna lie if I can catch for cheap I’ll see it.

  11. I watched the show as a kid and I have to say that I don’t recall B.A speaking much…didn’t he have one-liners? Not only that, but I really confused Mr T. and the character he played. So I have to agree: who could they have gotten to play the role? Personally, I can’t wait to see the movie. I just wish my mom hadn’t thrown away our A-Team toys…ugh

  12. I loved the “Their’s No Plan B” at the very end. Actually I think the cast makes the show feel fresh. They look younger than the original cast did when they played the parts. At least the final season. Think of these guys as evolving into the ones you’ve come to expect, like it’s a prequel.

  13. Hell, it looks like a fun movie, exactly what I was expecting to be honest, and Liam Neeson is always worth going to see.

  14. This looks fun, which is what the tv show was…lots of wall to wall funny car flipping fun…boo to anyone who thinks “gritty and realistic” equals good because in this case, it doesn't…and it has the Biel…how can you not like that??

  15. Huuuuuuuh this movie is f'd with a capital F especially with Rampage Jackson as Mr.T's character. My question y not just get Mr.T after all he still looks and sounds the same.

  16. Look, I'm not expecting a whole heap from this other than a good action movie. But there were a few things that bugged me in that trailer. One being Rampage, just doesn't feel right. I don't envy his postition, he was always going to get roasted by everyone. As someone said earlier, “there is only one Mr.T”.

But even worse than that, was the crazy CGI with Bradley Cooper. The looked so gobsmackingly awful! Like something out of G.I Joe. Now that is saying something!!!!

  17. I don't I'm pretty pumped. That trailer did justice for me.

  18. Holy Canoley!! It just might be worth it! Just hope my expectations are met having been a fan of the original series as a kid. Only thing I hope that gets changed is that the bullets aren't always just barely missing the A-Team's feet as the run for cover.

  19. i dont know how this will turn out im a big fan of the A team even though i dident grow up when they were popular cuz im 16 ……
i dont like that BA will make jokes and not be as serious ( he dosent say Homie )

my fav. caricter it murdock with is insanity so that and how they talk is what will sell me
also what was cool about the original is that they never had to kill anyone which is something u dont see alot in movies today……
ill check it out for shur though

  20. Rampage was a great choice for replacing Mr. T!

  21. Looking forward to it. Liked how the original theme played in the background. Hope it doesn't go crazy with CGI special effects and keeps the hard edge the begining of the trailer had…..also, would have been great if Mr T had a cameo.

  22. I think the first thing to acknowledge is that somebody thought the old series was worthy of re-investing in again. I think the new A-Team is also aimed at a generation who did not see the original series first time round. It nothing to do with vietnam war but a more recent conflict. Hard to give an honest appraisal based on almost 2 minutes of disjointed scenes. All the new characters have a hard act to follow, but the main essence of action, humour and justice is all I need to bring back that A-Team magic.

  23. any film where a tank is air dropped out of a plane and a person opens the hatch and fires the turret mounted gun whilst falling is going to to be cinematic gold in my books. im hoping this isnt one of those films where the trailer is better than the film though.
