Wonder if Ed Logg, the creator of Asteroids gets any residuals out of all this? It really was a definitive game of its time. Used Vector graphics, real world physics. I think one of the first to let you post your initials for a high score.

Maybe the story has something to do with Ed Logg and the history of Atari?

Actually, the other way to look at this is that because there is no real backstory here, the only real disappointment would be if there are missing asteroids, a ship, or flying saucers. I’m not saying that guarantees a good script, but you’ve got to admit that it will be a break from the remake/reimagine/reboot trend.

Me… But don’t hold me to that!

How about, some how, the brothers pop in and out of the game at awkward times. They begin to question reality. Why is this game intruding into our lives? Why are our lives like this game?

We’re escaping each episode by the skin of our teeth. It seems way too real to be some strange flashback. With a best friend (or one of the brothers) trashed by this nightmare, how much longer can we last at this?

The game finally takes over their lives.
Normal life is gone, they stand in a hanger bay ready to go out to face the Asteroids again, this time, it’s for keeps…

It’s one way to go anyway.
