With Aquaman confirmed to be in the Arrowverse, The CW should use Young Justice's Kaldur'ahm as inspiration instead of Arthur Curry. The CW has brought to life multiple Justice League members across their DC TV franchise. While some are off-limits due to Warner Bros. restrictions, many significant players live in the Arrowverse through references. Recently, Batwoman season 2 confirmed that the iconic water hero does exist on Earth-Prime, following The Flash's name-dropping of Atlantis. But they never specifically mention Arthur's name, leaving Aquaman's identity a mystery. As long as Jason Momoa's Aquaman film series is ongoing, the Arrowverse will likely never see Arthur on the small screen.

But that is why the Arrowverse should look to Young Justice for inspiration by using a different Aquaman. In the third season of the animated DC series, Kaldur'ahm, a.k.a. Aqualad, ends up taking over for Arthur as the new Aquaman. Arthur had decided to give up the throne after years in order to fulfill his duties better as the King of Atlantis. That became a new direction for Aquaman in media, and it is something that would be perfect for the Arrowverse. Rather than introducing Arthur or having to wait around to get permission from Warner Bros. to use him, The CW could try to adapt the direction that Young Justice: Outsiders took with Kaldur'ahm in live-action.

The Arrowverse has never shied from doing a new spin on various iconic DC characters. After Ruby Rose left Batwoman, they invented Ryan Wilder to take over her mantle rather than recasting Kate Kane immediately. Even though Wallis Day is the Arrowverse's new Kate, Ryan will still be Batwoman's lead. There are multiple instances where they have created new characters to take on various famous mantles or have an established DC character take on a different identity. Not only does Kaldur'ahm being Aquaman on Young Justice add something refreshing to the mythology,  but he has also become another prominent LGBTQ+ DC superhero.

Because of DC Films restrictions with certain Justice League heroes, it would be a long wait before Arthur could perhaps show up on any of the Arrrowverse series. But the beauty of the Multiverse is to have different iterations of characters, including someone else in a title like Aquaman. Young Justice: Outsiders took an organic approach to what led Arthur to give up the title over to Kaldur'ahm. The Arrowverse could take a similar path where their Arthur has passed on the Aquaman mantle to the former Aqualad, but maybe for different story reasons, compared to how Young Justice did it. The idea that the Arrowverse has to get restricted because of the DCEU is a silly one, especially after Crisis on Infinite Earths when Ezra Miller and Grant Gustin's Flashes shared the screen.

Young Justice's Kaldur'ahm has a huge fandom behind him since he debuted in the animated series and is another DC hero that deserves to get the live-action treatment. Having Kaldur'ahm as Arrowverse's Aquaman would add a new layer to Black Manta if he can appear on The CW. Since Kaldur'ahm is Black Manta's son, it would be fascinating to see the super-villain have to go up against a different Aquaman that so happens to be his flesh-and-blood. It would help the Arrowverse's Aquaman stand out from the DCEU iteration. If the Arrowverse were to use Young Justice's Kaldur'ahm as their Aquaman, it would mark the addition of another popular diverse superhero for The CW.
