While The Flash faces off against the Reverse-Flash as The CW’s freshman superhero drama enters its final episodes of the season, on Arrow, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) will be battling Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable) and the path he has chosen. Though Ra’s has been a throughline of Arrow’s third season, the show has lately focused on the possibility of Oliver taking up the mantle of the Demon’s Head.

In the last episode, “The Fall,” he took one step closer by leaving his former life behind, joining the League of Assassins as the heir to Ra’s al Ghul, and taking the name Al Sah-him. Now, new photos from the next episode as well as synopses from the final two episodes hint at what’s to come for Oliver on Arrow.

E! Online has released four new images from the upcoming episode “Al Sah-him” in which Nyssa Al Ghul teams up with Laurel a.k.a. Black Canary (Katie Cassidy), Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), and Diggle (David Ramsey) against the League of Assassins. After the events of the last episode, it seems Oliver will be fighting against those who once followed him on Team Arrow – and using the uniform of the Dark Archer to do so.

Following “Al Sah-him,” only two more episodes of Arrow are left in season 3. This week, CB released the synopses for the final episodes titled “This is Your Sword” and “My Name is Oliver Queen,” which will premiere the first two weeks of May:

“AL SAH-HIM TAKES HIS FINAL STEPS TO ASCENSION; ROY AND THEA REUNITE — Oliver/Al Sah-him (Stephen Amell) finishes his training and is left with two final tasks to become the next Ra’s al Ghul. Ra’s (guest star Matt Nable) threatens Nyssa (guest star Katrina Law) and delivers some shocking news. Meanwhile, Malcolm (John Barrowman) makes a surprising offer to Team Arrow and Thea (Willa Holland) goes to see Roy (Colton Haynes). Wendey Stanzler directed the episode with story by Erik Oleson and teleplay by Ben Sokolowski & Brian Ford Sullivan (#322). Original airdate 5/6/2015.”

“THE HEART-STOPPING SEASON FINALE — Everyone’s lives are in danger as Ra’s al Ghul (guest star Matt Nable) puts forth his final plan. Oliver/Al Sah-him (Stephen Amell) must decide if he’s strong enough to take on this new role and what it will mean for everyone on Team Arrow, and his soul. John Behring directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Marc Guggenheim & Jake Coburn (#323). Original airdate 5/13/2015.”

Roy’s return in “This is Your Sword” shouldn’t come as a surprise given the actor’s recent hints that he would see fans soon. As for Oliver, the theme of characters losing their soul has certainly come to the forefront in the final episodes of Arrow’s season 3. Last week, Malcolm made a point to explain that Thea’s soul could be altered due to the Lazarus Pit.

So, with so much time spent on the powers of the Lazarus Pit, their effects on those who use it, and the “shocking news” Ra’s will deliver to Nyssa in “This is Your Sword,” could we see the return of Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) in the final episodes of season 3 of Arrow?

Lotz is set to appear in the Arrow/Flash spinoff being developed by The CW and we’ve explained how that may be possible despite her character’s death earlier in the season. Since Nyssa had a relationship with Sara, and dealing with that loss has been an emotional arc throughout the season, the reveal of a returned Sara would certainly be shocking for Nyssa.

Of course, Sara’s return to Arrow is far from confirmed. Although it would provide answers to the main question surrounding the spinoff series, we will have to wait for the final episodes of Arrow to debut before we know for certain. However, Oliver and Team Arrow will have their hands full in the finale as the show gears up for its fourth season.
