Warning: SPOILERS for the upcoming Arrowverse crossover

A new set photo from the upcoming Arrowverse crossover is showcasing what appears to be a serious twist on the wedding of The Flash's Barry Allen and Iris West since it seems to also be the wedding of Arrow's Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak.

The now annual mega crossover between Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow has become something akin to the summer blockbuster version of The CW's DC Universe, showcasing big, dramatic stories and action on a scale the modestly budgeted shows can't really deliver on a weekly basis. We've known for awhile this year's installment is titled "Crisis on Earth-X," which will see the heroes journey to a dark reality where they take on Nazi-inspired parallel universe versions of themselves.

Further details on the crossover have been sparse, but a new set photo reveals it could be paying off two of the Arrowverse's longest running romances. It's been long assumed Barry Allen and Iris West would wed this season, but a new set photo from Twitter user Canadagraphs suggests Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak may be making it a double wedding. Arrow's producers have been hinting for awhile that the relationship between Oliver and Felicity would reach something of a turning point in season 6, and marriage would certainly qualify. The pair were seemingly angling toward a romantic reconciliation near the end of last season, so this would make a certain amount of sense.

However, it could also be misdirection. This is a crossover that will take place in a parallel universe, after all, so we could conceivably be looking at alternate versions of the characters. It could also be a fake out, a moment meant to provoke a reaction, something these shows have never been above.

Either way, there are very few further avenues Arrow could take with Oliver and Felicity. Six years in, the show has made its (sometimes controversial) position known that the pair are going to end up together sooner or later. It's a little strange that they would decide to do it the same day as Barry and Iris, but it's not like Oliver and Felicity have ever done anything the easy, sensible way, so horning in on their friends' wedding isn't all that shocking. Chances are good this isn't the only surprise that awaits fans in this year's mega crossover, but this one would be a doozy.
