Robert Knepper as T Bag in Prison Break Robert Knepper Cast as Clock King in Arrow & Antonius in Mockingjay

Tonight is the night we say farewell to the CW’s Arrow for a while, as the midseason finale ‘Three Ghosts’ will conclude the two-parter that kicked off last week with ‘The Scientist’. Last time we saw Oliver and his friends, a new face had been accepted into the tight fold of vigilante sidekicks and Starling City’s first superpowered villain had just been introduced. Needless to say, it’s definitely going to be worth tuning in for the conclusion.

When Arrow returns for the second half of the second season next year, one of the many villains from the comic books who will be introduced is William Tockman AKA Clock King. One of the lesser-known foes of Green Arrow and Batman, Clock King was nonetheless popularized by his guest appearances in Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League Unlimited.

TV-Line reports that the nefariously punctual villain will be played by Prison Break‘s Robert Knepper, who can currently be seen on TNT’s crime drama, Mob City. By the sounds of it he’ll only be getting a single episode appearance for now, as he’s set to guest-star in episode 14 of season 2; but perhaps if the Clock King proves popular he could make a comeback in the future.

Clock King Robert Knepper Cast as Clock King in Arrow & Antonius in Mockingjay

That’s not the only new role for Knepper to be revealed today, however. Over on the official Facebook page for The Hunger Games, Lionsgate announced that the actor will also be playing Antonius in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2. True fans of Suzanne Collins’ original novels will of course remember Antonius as one of the most important and prominent characters in the final chapter of the trilogy.

Alright, we’re just testing you. There actually isn’t a character called Antonius in Collins’ novels, but Deadline claims that Knepper’s character is “President Snow’s minister” so we may well get to see Knepper flexing his villain muscles in this role as well. Considering how great he was as the slimy, cunning T-Bag in Prison Break, we can happily get behind both of these casting choices.

  1. Good choice. He was also great in Heroes.

  2. i thought they cast Flavour Flav for Clock King

    • LMAO

  3. I still think this guy would be the PERFECT Cletus Kassidy (Carnage) in a Spider-Man/Venom Film. He looks nearly spot on for him in my opinion. He played a perfect psycho in Prison Break so do it again in a Spider-Man film!

    • this.

    • agreed

    • Never thought of him as Carnage, he would be a good choice, better than Jim Carrey IMO…

  4. In all seriousness if they are introducing Clock King, they better f*cking introduce Condiment King.

    • I totally agree. +1

  5. I love the Batman TAS pic they used in the article. :) perfect.

  6. I hope he ends up being part of Amanda Waller’s Suicide Squad like Justice League Unlimited.

    • Its only a matter of time.

    • It could be possible. So far we’ve got Deadshot and Bronze Tiger, sucks that Count Vertigo died I would like to see in him be part of the Suicide Squad. Since we’re getting a Flash series, we might as well get Captain Boomerang.

  7. I don’t get the extreme praise for this show. It’s good, but for me, nothing more. There really hasn’t been any standout moments that wowed me.

    • Than make sure to never watch Marvels S.H.I.E.L.D because Arrow makes that look like Saved By The Bell!

      • I’m sorry, but Saved By The Bell was a great show and a million times better than Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. BTW They both are on totally different categories so that makes S.H.I.E.L.D. even worse.

      • Typical

    • The fact that season one ended on the hero failing to save the city no matter what he did, that was some ballsy, first season shenanigans of the highest order….Not many shows would take such a risk on the first season….

And add to it a second season that, so far, has been woven together flawlessly, with almost every episode tying together a great story arc that keeps me coming back every week…

No other show right now has that pull, other than TWD…. I wait to watch The Shield, but I watch Arrow immediately,,,,

  8. I like that Arrow has a relatively small audience compared to network TV. This means they are more likely to be more responsive to fans! For example, I don’t foresee Marvel being more responsive to fans because their formula rakes in the money. The problem with that, to me, is you can throw out anything you want, no matter how bad, and not worry about fan response. Obviously you can tell I’m a little peeved at Marvel, but mostly because I want them to lay off the ill timed humour which undermines their characterizations and the dramatic moments.

As for this guy, I don’t really see him as the clock king because the clock king seems more of a refined gentleman type, not really the vibe and the kind of bad guy that Knepper usually portrays on screen. Eh, we’ll see.

  9. Oliver is one of my favorite characters but…… they mentioned Ra’s Al Ghul last week, and now Clock King? Get your own enemies Ollie.

    • Except that Clock King was a Green Arrow villain before he was a Batman villain.

  10. T-Bag was one of the best villains ever on TV. Glad to see Knepper back!

  11. actually i prefer him for the next joker, his physique fit with joker

  12. lol I was about to say who is antonius, and read all the books. well I read 99 percent of the books. I stopped reading the 3rd book. 5 pages to the end. I was uninterested. said forget it. I just seen episode 9. Barry Allen got his powers.

  13. just finished watching Arrow and Oh my god I am geeking out right now !

    • Ohh, so was I……when I saw Slade in the modern timeline and looking like the perfect version of Deathstroke…I went all schoolgirl giddy…

  14. One rumor I will lay to rest…I am positively NOT playing the part of Clock King. I have never been on time for anything in my life (probably even gave my mom false labor!).

  15. Aww man. Deathroke… Red Arrow… and Flash origins in one episode. Arrow is crazy good.

  16. excellent choice loved him in prison break even tho he was a bad guy. cant wait to see him in arrow. Arrow gets better every ep its crazy

  17. Does Shadow get killed? Kinda left you hanging.

    • Yeah, they show her get shot in the head on the island because he jumped in front of Sara

  18. I thought Clock King was the worst character in Batman The Animated series. It is such a badly written character. I’d rather see Scar Face(the wooden puppet) than see this joke of a character. I <3 Batman:TAS!

    • I liked the Clock King episodes. Not everything could be as deep as “Heart of Ice”.

  19. Arrow was great last night!
But the have to slow down the hype machine. They need to watch how many big bads they are introducing. So far they have Slade,Ras a Gaul, that Russian CEO chick(Summer Glau?), Merlin, league of assassins,Grundy, and brother Blood. I’m assuming click king will be a one off. And now you have Roy with super powers, still have Diggle’s story arc,the Black canary, Island, and Thea’s story arc with Merlin. How are they going to do all of these story arcs justice?! Some like Slade’s could carry over multiple seasons, but still, how can they possibly weave this many story arcs together?!

  20. Arrow has been really good, it’ll be nice to see Clock King make an appearance. He seems like a good fit for the world they’ve created.

On a side note, 2 words that should never be used in the same sentence, Hunger Games and Original.

  21. Good to see Cousin Rob on TV again. Wish they would have done another season or two of “Cult”, he got greased when it was getting interesting.

FYI, Clock King’s “real” name is Temple Fugate, not William Tockman. Somebody needs to do their research.
