Arrested Development season 4’s lineup of returning and new guest stars – including Mae Whitman, Liza Minelli, Henry Winkler, Scott Baio, Jeff Garlin, John Slattery, The Workaholics, Isla Fisher, Terry Crews, and Chris Diamantopoulos – has gotten almost comically large at this point.
Now we can add two more to the list: Conan O’Brien and Andy Richter. The first official image from the new season of Arrested Development has been released, and it features Conan, Andy, and Michael Bluth (Jason Batemen) presumably on set of the Conan show. Also: A recent report has narrowed down the exact month that season 4 will premiere on Netflix.

The image follows on last week’s revelation from O’Brien and Richter (while Will Arnett was visiting the Conan show, no less) that they would be making an appearance in season 4.
Andy Richter, of course, is no stranger to Arrested Development. He first appeared very briefly in the season 2 episode “Switch Hitter” where he accidentally dropped his sandwich in the Tantamount Studio parking lot before kicking it out of frustration. In the season 3 episode “S.O.B.s,” he returned as himself and his four identical quintuplet brothers – Donnie the sensitive one, Chareth the flirt, Rocky the risk-taker (Andy’s stunt double), and Emmet, who didn’t want his picture shown.
There’s no word as to whether or not Andy Richter is returning as just Andy Richter or if his brothers will be making an appearance as well, but it’s hard to imagine Mitch Hurwitz and company would pass up on the opportunity to – gasp – reveal Emmet’s mysterious face to the audience. He’s sort of the Doctor Claw of Arrested Development in that way.
Also, can we expect Conan’s role in the new season to be even semi-substantial, or will it be more akin to Richter’s first appearance on Arrested Development? In addition to the picture, Conan tweeted: “Spoiler alert: I’m an amazing actor.” Make of that what you will.
‘Arrested Development’ Season 4 Premiere Set for April 2013?
We’ve known for a while now that Arrested Development season 4 would be premiering in its entirety on Netflix “sometime in spring 2013,” but now The Film Stage is reporting that the premiere date has been narrowed down to April.
What does this mean, exactly? Well, for one, it means you have five more months before you should probably purchase Netflix Streaming (if you want to be able to watch season 4 as quickly as possible, that is). Other than that, we now have an idea as to how many more excruciating months we’ll have to endure before we can watch new episodes of Arrested Development. It’s already been (almost) seven years since the show was canceled. What’s five months more?
Of course, The Film Stage isn’t exactly an official Arrested Development outlet, so maybe we should wait for Ron Howard, Jason Batemen, or Will Arnett to tweet a confirmation before we set our calendars.
Are you excited for season 4 of Arrested Development, Screen Ranters? Are you happy to see so many returning and new guest stars? Let us know in the comments.
Arrested Development season 4 premieres on Netflix in (probably?) April 2013.
