Just 24 hours after the teaser trailer for Terminator: Salvation is released, now comes word that (finally) puts to rest the question everyone’s been asking:
“So…what about Arnold?”
Well, true believers, the T-800 will in fact appear. Albeit this time he will be portrayed by actor Rolan Kickinger.
Speaking recently to the Clinton News-Record, he explained:

“There’s a very strong scene in the film where John Connor for the first time meets the Terminator, and he doesn’t know if he’s a good guy or a bad guy,” said Kickinger.
“It’s Arnold’s character in the first Terminator. That’s basically my role, but 20 years before, so it establishes how the Terminator [came] about.”
I’m sure Kickinger is a nice guy and all. But, I wouldn’t want to be the guy who spends his acting career essentially being told “You know…you look just like Arnold Schwarzenegger!”
I mean first he plays the Governator in an A&E-produced biopic called See Arnold Run (for all 10 of you who saw it) and now this!?!
Then again, work is work. And he’s playing to his strength. So all power to him.
Terminator: Salvation will be released in theatres May 22, 2009.

Could it be that I’m first? Probably not. After T3, I didn’t hold out much hope for this franchise. Cameron bailed at the right time. Temporal causality loops have come 360.
WIth Bale as Conner and Arnold 2.0, who know? I always thought they would introduce us to the human the T800 was based on – maybe that’s still part of the plan..
