Wow, my respect for these guys just went up a notch. It seems that one of the bonus audio tracks on the upcoming Matrix 10 disc uber-set will contain commentary by three reviewers who disliked the original film, and who’s criticisms will be available for all three films.
Woah….
This was understandably a hard sell to the studio, who for obvious reasons did not want any negative comments on the DVDs, but ultimately they agreed.
Even though it might be a gimmick designed to get people who didn’t like the second and third films to buy it, that’s still not enough to make me shell out over a hundred bucks for this set ![]()

You need a thick skin to survive in Hollywood, so you can’t take criticism too personally, but it’s unusual for the studio to agree to include anything other than glowing reviews. Still, I wonder why they’re including reviews from people who didn’t like the original. For the most part, the original was very well received. It almost seems like the negative reviews of the original will be used to weaken the reviewers’ credibility so that their slams of Reloaded and Revolutions will carry less weight in people’s minds.

Good point, that hadn’t occured to me.

brain, thats a good point. However, this is a swell idea. i always think critics telling you why something sucks is more entertaining that saying why it’s amazing. “bad” reviews are always laugh riots, i feel. Still, as you said Vic, ain’t gonna make me shell out a hundred quid. i havent even seen the sequels. screw their bullet-timing or whatever the hell.
Yup, I enjoy writing the negative reviews much more than the positive ones.

i think the wackowski brothers should make movies about when trinity and morpheus were first freed
