Warner Bros looks to have one heck of solid year in 2010 with the likes of The Hobbit (now theirs since New Line basically folded), Superman: The Man of Steel and Akira. Warner Brothers has formally announced that the final Potter outing will be split into two films: Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows: Part I will be unveiled November 2010 with Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows: Part II concluding May 2011.
Potter film producer David Heyman had this to say:

“‘The Deathly Hallows’ is so rich, the story so dense and there is so much that is resolved that after discussing it with Jo [Rowling], we came to the conclusion that two parts were needed to do it justice.”
I’d love to believe that, but fortunately I wasn’t born yesterday. Warner Brothers & Co. wants to milk this cash-cow dry right down to the bone. That, I understand. And it’s not like this is flat-out shocking news because there have been rumors of this happening for months. Heck, Warner Bros. was seriously considering splitting the fourth Potter book Goblet of Fire into two films before Alfonso Cuaron (who directed Prisoner of Azkaban) convinced them otherwise.
Regardless, I’m still not crazy about this decision.
David Yates (who helmed last years Order of the Phoenix and the forthcoming Half-Blood Prince) will return to direct.

Yup, it’s all about getting $20 out of every Potter fan instead of $10 for the box office. Plus now they get to see 2 dvd’s as well. It’s all about the moolah.
Some of it might have to do with the money, but I agree with them, the book has way too many details and parts that cant be taken off.
If that is the case, then the LOTR trilogy should have been 6 movies!!!

Maybe if the people who pay to see EACH and EVERY one of these would stop sucking Warner Brothers’ cocks, they wouldn’t be able to get away with this nonsense.
But no, the tards still give their $80 away for these kids movies.
LOTR should of been 6 movies because that warranted that much story telling. However they did a fantastic job of making it 3 solid movies telling the main story a bit better than the books did, despite the rediculous multiple endings of ROTK

Movie audiences might reject this.
It’s going to make HUGE $$$ regardless. But I can’t help but wonder if this will annoy audiences. Of all times split the books into two films, they wait ’till the final one(!?!)
