I have to second that. As a “big picture” story guy, Lucas does well, but his screenplays and directing efforts have left much to be desired. I have never been a big fan of Hayden Christensen’s acting, but with a mediocre director, the poor guy doesn’t stand a chance. With all that said, I thought the pictures were cool. I don’t think there’s any doubt that at the very least, this movie will be visually impressive. It’s the other aspects that worry me, though.Brian

Hiya Vic! No, I won’t jump on you after making that comment about Hayden, I promised to be be nice. Like the rest of the Star Wars fans, lets just hope this one will be THE ONE.

Let’s just hope that this will be the ONE? Simone, do I detect a chink in your armor considering the previous two movies?

Like you Vic, I’m starting to come around on it as well. And I’m about as anti-Lucas as a Star Wars fan can get, methinks. I sincerely hope Ep3 is worth the effort and hype. And I’m kinda looking forward to seeing if Lucas simply has problems directing infinite-budget sci-fi adventure flicks, or if he still has that American Graffiti touch.

And oh yea, thanx for the link :]

Are you trying to trick me to say something Vic?
Much as I loved the original trilogy, and much as I also loved Episodes I and II it still can not compare to the original, and I think Star Wars fans can say that in all honesty. The 2 earlier prequels had it flaws of course, but I didnt let that affect my enjoyment for the films. I love it, flaws and all.

No matter how visually exciting the movie might be, that cannot compensate for a wooden performance from a main character. I’m afraid I am not too excited about this film. It would be a treat to be proven wrong. The whole IDEA of movies is to be transported into another reality. You would think these guys would have figured out what it takes to make that happen by now wouldn’t you? Oh I hate it that I am so cynical.
Last night we watched a SciFi movie from 1953. Ray Bradbury wrote it…. what was the name of it? Dang, can’t remember. A space ship fell in the desert and this one eyed thing was inside. Anyway, I was VERY impressed with that black and white film, good story, interesting photography and not too shabby special effects considering the time it was made. Storytelling is where it’s at, not big budgets….. Sigh.

Vic, I have a strong feeling that Christensen will do great in this one, I am so looking forward to it, the Grim Reaper scene is already giving me the goosebumps.
