So not only is Eli Roth a fan of the MPAA, but he’s also showing some artistic integrity by stopping the Hostel movies at number two:
“There is ‘Hostel‘ and ‘Hostel 2‘ and that’s it. It’s like ‘Kill Bill Volume 1‘ and ‘Kill Bill Volume 2‘.”
In an interview he tried to highlight the difference between his Hostel movies and the Saw series with the above statement.

He followed that up with this great quote:
“I hate a lame third sequel, and I don’t want there to be one. I wish ‘Beyond Thunderdome‘ didn’t exist; I wish there was just ‘Mad Max‘ and ‘The Road Warrior‘. I really wasn’t crazy about ‘Spider-Man 3‘. I wanted it after ‘Spider-Man 1‘ and ‘Spider-Man 2‘, but with ‘Spider-Man 3‘ I was really disappointed when I saw that film; that will never happen with ‘Hostel‘.”
I hate to admit that I’m starting to like this guy…

Yeah, but why does he say that HOSTEL is an accurate portrait of America? Um, riiiiigggghhhhht. He’s a bit strange.

Actually, my sorta bad…an overseas critic said that, but Roth has been agreeing with it.

“No I mean no movie is critic proof; even horror fans criticise Hostel I for not being violent enough but I do think that, you know I was very pleased that La Monde picked Hostel as the Best American Film of the Year ahead of The Departed, an art form magazine called Hostel the smartest that they’d seen on American foreign policy and American imperialism. And you know the New York Times called it most misogynistic, homophobic film ever made.”
And I’ve read articles where he said that people love torture movies because America tortures at Gitmo, etc. (Of course, he doesn’t say anything about Castro, etc., torturing and imprisoning dissenters, either.)

Don’t you know, Vic? EVERYTHING is to be blamed on the current administration, lol.
Okay, enough politics. I may end up co-producing a bloody violent horror film a friend of mine is doing, but I still would like to see a return to the stuff I grew up on. Violent, but not torturous: THE THING, AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, etc.
