Two months ago a foreign website hosted a tiny version of an international (and different) Iron Man trailer. I’ve been waiting for a larger version to surface and today higher res versions of the trailer have arrived online - and of course I’ve spared no time in getting a higher quality version for you right here.

The international trailer is short at one minute flat but it does contain a bunch of new scenes we haven’t seen before. Overall it’s faster paced and I think I actually like this one better than the U.S. version. It gives us more of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark and we get more Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts. And we see more glimpses of the construction of the high tech Iron Man armor.
In additional news, Paramount has committed to spending $50 million to promote Iron Man.
Oh yeah… this is gonna be BIG.
Iron Man opens on May 2, 2008.

How do you clean drool from a keyboard?
I hadn’t seen this before, Vic. I love it! Interesting how they trimmed it down AND managed to feature alternate shots we’ve not seen. I like more of the glowing “chester protector.” I’m glad to see they kept the illuminated eye moment.
I really like the hard rock that accompanies the trailers–very fitting! What I’m disappointed in is the normal voice-over of “Iron Man” rather then the voice effect “I am Iron Man” (I think it came from Ozzy’s song?). I’m also partial to the “rivet” logo.
The “Flight Stabilizer” line got a laugh outta me. I cannot wait for this movie!

Is it just me, or does time seem to flow ever slower whenever we get new awesome tidbits about the movie?
I still love that closing scene, hahahaha.
I try to occupy myself with other things so the time goes faster.

Love the backgrown music on this one, not that Black Sabbeth is bad. RDJ looks perfect! Agreeing with Vic, I like this teaser alittle more.
I like these one better then the old one. At the old one I like the part when he says “the best weapon is the one that you only fire once. That’s how GOD did it that’s how America does it, and it’s woreked out so far.” The only thing I hate about it it’s that he says it like he’s teasing. He does not says it with passion.
Come to think about it it sounds like he is bored with every thing. Even when the reporter asks him a question his like BLA BLA BLA. Kind of like he does not care what people think of him.These could turn out to be cool.
On second thought, I like the first one better. I just showed this one to a non-fan, and I realized the first trailer establishes 4 things very quickly:
1. What kind of man Stark is
2. What he does.
3. How he is injured.
4. Why the “heart” of Iron Man is necessary.
I also favor the captor’s perspective of the pounding on the metal door, and the sonic boom outro which puts an exclamation point on the whole thing. Kind of like, “You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.” The “perfectly harmless” line is a very predictable setup line, kind of schmaltzy in contrast with his snarky retorts.

Endri, that’s just RDJ’s acting style. I find it really funny and charming, but I guess it might not work for some people. Whether or not it works for Iron Man specifically remains to be seen, but it’s worked for Robert so far.
Adrian, you remind me of someone who saw the first trailer, and said something like “This is porn. This is just porn.” Haha. I know what ya mean.

I’ll say this for Roberts take on this role. I’m sure he’s read the origins of Ironman and also knows what kind of guy Stark is supposed to act like.

For the film Chaplin I heard that he researched everything about Charlie Chaplin and watched all his work. He was nominated I believe for an oscar in that one…
When this movie opens I’ll be more worried that someone sitting next to me in the theatre might have a gas prob.

Looks cool but something bugs me, can the IRON MONGER fly or will we have only one on one combat on the ground?
