Vic,
The pictures look so much better against the black background.
The Joker does look cool.

However with each picture the Joker’s “cut” grin appears to be less graphic. Could they be toning it down for the kiddies?

“However with each picture the Joker’s “cut” grin appears to be less graphic. Could they be toning it down for the kiddies?”, says Niall.

I hope not, Niall. The insane look in the Joker’s eye’s will still give kiddos nightmares.

Agreeing with you, Vic, on that the flexible neck makes for much lease intimidating, but more mobile Batman.

Gotta say…they both look AWESOME. Looking forward to the trailer (supposedly) in front of I AM LEGEND next week…

I feel that the best looking costume was Batman Forever. Not the Sonar costume at the end- the “Hero” suit for most of the film.

If only they could have that look with flexibility.

I should just keep dreaming!

The suits strike again.

WTF?! The pictures are gone!

Sorry, Kel. If a studio lawyer asks me to remove something that’s obviously unauthorized, I do it.

The picture of the batsuit would have just annoyed you anyway. ;-)

LOL! The people at this site really are like family! ;-) :-D No,I understand Vic,it’s just I’ve been searching all over the net for those pictures all day and haven’t seen them yet.

Seriously tho,the best looking batsuit was probably the one that Niall mentioned, even tho I don’t like any of them cuz I think they should have the dark gray on the areas of Batman’s costume that are dark gray on the Batman comix costume, and that I wish the suits were more flexible looking. But,what are you gonna do?

Most of the Ledger Joker pictures I’ve seen have been disguisting and don’t look like the how the Joker should look at all. The story/movie itself had better be REALLY GOOD (like Begins and the 1989 Batman were),cuz based on the pictures I’ve seen from the movie I’d say the film is going to suck. I’ve really lost some faith because of them, maybe the trailer will make me feel better. What they’ve done to the Joker’s appearance just reminds me of what Burton did to the Penguin, his Penguin was nothing like the comix Penguin. And I’m not talking about the campy TV show Penguin either when I say “comix”,I’m talking about the Penguin that was like a repected club owner and crime boss,he wasn’t grotesque and unkept and a sewer dweller,he was like a “Don” almost. The closest anyone’s ever come to getting the Penguin right outside of the comix is the version Timm/Dini came up with for the Batman:Gotham Knights/New Adventures of Batman cartoon series a couple years ago. That’s the Penguin I want on screen. But I know,it’ll never happen.

I hate the batmobile from Begins too. I hope Batman gets a new one that’s more like the one from the comix,al la the 1989 Batman film’s batmobile and the Batman:Gotham Knights/New Adventures of Batman animated show’s batmobile in The Dark Knight (which I’m actually surprised to see that it’s being called “The Dark Knight” and that they aren’t even going to include “Batman” before the title). The one from Begins isn’t even called a batmobile (and rightly so) it’s called the “Tumbler”.

Batman’s my all time favorite comix character,FYI,so don’t none of y’all accuse me of disliking certain elements from the Batman films cuz “I’m not a fan”.;-) I’m also a bit of a comix purist.

Who knows? Maybe they’ll right some of the Batman film wrongs with the JLA movie’s Batman? Ahh,probably not.

And I know,no one here will agree with me on my problems with the movie suits, car, etc. cuz most of y’all could really care less or are only interested in Batman as a movie,so bring the heat.

But at least the suit has no nipples, right? And that’s a BIG plus.:-D

I really don’t like the Batmobile for these two movies, it’s just so wrong, at least put a point at the front and some wings on the back. The batcyle, I could careless, cuz I didn’t like it ne way, hopefully there are not many vehicle scenes. Christian Bale looks like hes toned down quite a bit, may just be me, and i don’t mean the neck thing, because there is a normal pic of him, and he just looks skinnier. Maybe its to make the suit easier to wear.

You all out there may think this is crazy, but I think a bat suit that didnt even show his face would be the best solution for the always awkward way he looks. Anyone agree, just think of the possiblities, and they always make changes in the costume anyway. Also think back to the cartoon when half the time he would be in the dark and the only thing you see is the sillohete of his cowl and his white eyes, and no face.

Yeah,I guess that would be more practical and intimidating, but I wouldn’t like it cuz it would be an even more radical vision of the Batman suit. Kinda like the Batman Beyond cartoon’s suit.

I have NO complaint about Bale whatsoever,he’s really great you know,I just hope his voice isn’t so damn raspy and hoarse sounding in The Dark Knight. Bale’s voice made me laugh in some of those scenes from Begins,it should sound more natural, like Kevin Conroy’s voice, even Keaton’s,tho not everyone can be Conroy.;-)

In regards to my comments on the batsuit earlier,WTF was I thinking? Didn’t the batsuit at the beginning of Batman Forever have nipples?!! I guess Niall just mentioned it because it seems like the most flexible of the batsuits so far. And I think it was. So,if there was anything good to be said about that batsuit,it was the flexibility of it.

And the batmobile or “tumbler’ is horrible. I think the batcycle is OK tho,it just reminds me more of a dirt bike then a high speed James Bond style motorcycle.:-)

Yeah the Batman Forever did have a “pair of schumachers” but it was a pretty cool costume- and it looked like Batman could kick ass in it.

I agree on the Batmobile complaints. I’d love to see a cool car. Even wings would make the new ‘mobile look like Norm Breyfogle’s art from the 1990’s.

KEL said,

“pair of shumachers” LOL!

And yeah, some batwings/fins would make the car more likable. :-)
Based on what I’ve read in Wizard Magazine’s big movie preview issue yesterday, the batcave and computer should look pretty cool.

The reason the Batmobile looks the way it does is because of this NEW REBOOT of Batman.
^
Let’s face it gang, this is the same thing that’s going to happen to Star Trek. TOS/Comix comparision.
^
Luckly for Batman I’m not uptight about the comix changes vs this series of films.I’m bummed that WB has a bug up there *ss about the photos they did look good.
^
Can’t say the same for Trek and paramount/cbs

IMO, I love the Tumbler! It looks actually functional, very unique and tormented like Bats soul. Some of th new military vehicle coming out have similar design features. Reminds me of how different but believable the 60’s future Lincoln/Batmobile was used in the series. I very much dislike the Forever Batmobile. It just disappoints in sooo many ways! It looks like a dragster with fins, fiberglass modeling, and rocket engine thrown on the back, then the most ridicule part is “IT DRIVES UP WALLS?! COME ON! Where is it suppose to go when it gets up the wall and how many buildings could he use that on? Sorry guys, I know it’s a movie but be a little logical about function. The suit in Forever wasn’t bad, just subtract the nipples,LOL.
