Superherohype has alerted readers that there is a newer and slightly different version of the final trailer for Spider-Man 3 over at Yahoo! Movies.
I’ve been reading comments here saying that Venom doesn’t look the way he should based on the comic book. I think he’s going to scare the heck out of the little kids in the audience from what I’ve seen. Click on the image to the left for a much larger screen grab of the new look at Venom from the trailer, complete with some big honkin’ claws. ![]()

Much better but……..
where is the tongue??
where is the white big logo??
where is the tall Venom???
And I really hope Raimi Venom smile or yawn or scream all the movie. That will be the only way for seeing that small teeth.
Poor Venom……. he don’t deserve that big lips
Besides, if you really think about it, if you took the Venom character the way he’s depicted in the comics and made him look like a live-action character, he’d be so horrifying that Spider-Man 3 would have to be rated R!

that picture of venom leaping is so cool

Hey, its not underdone, but its not overdone. This Venom will be cool. Its more real-life. Some of the comic-book versions of Venom are simply too much (but cool, nonetheless. This Venom looks just right, and big enough in my opinion. You aren’t gonna get a big, musclebound, Batista-style Venom for a big screen movie. You need something authentic, and this is about that.
Vic…I mean, ahem, Rex Gorden
Well i don’t know what venom looked like in the comic books cause i nevwer really got into spiderman until the movie!! But it definently looks freaky.
And Rex… very funny.

If you really think about it, Venom is def a rated “R” character!!!! But if they want to make the $$$$ they will def have to bring him down to a rated “PG-13″ character. Movie gods help us all if they take him any lower…..I do not think I could handle a PG Venom.
I personally, from what I have seen so far, think Venom is looking kinda silly. I hope they clean up the CGI a little better. He looks so far, way to CGI. And that Vic, is exactly what I was afraid of to begin with.
Having said that, I *do* remember the scene at the end of “The Scorpion King”…
BTW, I believe both prior Spider-Man films were rated PG-13 and I have no doubt this one will be as well.

Still, I miss the creepy alien tongue, and perhaps white would better contrast the black instead of the current color. Dare I say a shiny silver, better yet? I dunno. Nothings perfect, I duess. But the CGI for Venom’s big maw would probably be alot better than the latex and rubber alternative. If anybody here has seen the pictures of them applying the suit to Topher and the mask that he wears as the final product, they may agree that the CGI is better.

if u think about it,its not FULLY sam raimis fault, its kind of the costume designers fault.and btw, look closely, the venom costume and the spidey simbiote costurme are the same exept the spider…its like twins…a deforemed head over sized jaw one and a regular one….i think spidermans black suit is fine, but venom having the plain black with huge white spider is better than spiderman having it.
well they could’ve done just a little better i mean like the size of him and the costume they could’ve just had it like black like vic said with the white spider in the chest and stomach area and the face could’ve been done differently to like made it look more viscous and blood thirsty like the comics but ya it looks pretty awesome
