Yeesh… sometimes I really think Hollywood has gone off the deep end.
Considering what a disaster Exorcist: The Beginning was, I’ll be shocked if this ever sees the light of day. Besides, Dakota Fanning has too many turkeys on her résumé; she needs to be more careful about her movie choices.

In response to ‘The Exorcist’ remake…

Before you begin to spout off what you think are facts and have the audacity to criticize a man who has reached a level of personal success that you will probably never reach, do some research. Aside from Jim not rewriting The Exorcist, he has also been dead for 4 years. So, the next time you go to IMDB to do a quick search on someone’s career, you might want to look at the ‘Date of Death’ line right at the top… and, oh yeah, how about looking at his entire career. True, he helped write Anaconda 1 & 2 and Viva Rock Vegas. Let us not forget that he also wrote the most popular movie of 1986, Top Gun, as well as Turner & Hooch, Secret of My Success, Dick Tracey as well as others.

I know it makes you feel good to berate other people’s movies because you are unable to actually write one yourself but if you actually look at the scripts for each one of his movies you will see that each of them are written extremely well. There are no holes in the plot, the dialogue is tight and they move well… regardless of what you think of the story.

I could go on for hours as to the weaknesses in your points, but I think I’ve proven mine. So, in the future, do a little work and be careful what you say.

Mike,

Thanks for posting. My intent was more to bash the studio for the concept than the writer, and I didn’t get the info that he was doing the rewrite from but from other multiple sources.

I appreciate your pointing out that facts and I will do a bit more due diligence in the future.
