The trailer for Peter Jackson’s upcoming (Dec. 14) version of King Kong is available online.
If you thought this anticipated trailer (to be attached to War of the Worlds) was going to be a dinky little teaser, you are mistaken. We’re talking full-on trailer with shots of all the stars, big visuals and even King Kong himself.
I have to say that Jack Black comes across perfectly as Carl Denham, although I’m not too sure about Adrien Brody as Jack Driscoll.
The trailer is sponsored by Volkswagen, so after you watch it, do them a favor and go buy a car.

I saw the 3 minute trailer for the first time on cable. The production looked first rate except…King Kong!! It was really reminenscent of the effects for the Hulk. I was highly disappointed.

I’m with Trent on that one; the Hulk looked fake to me as well. You could tell it was CGI, as opposed to a real person. I guess we were spoiled on Ferrigno.

I really dont know what to say. Hmmmmm….
King Kong looks great! Jack black is in a leading role! That’s too cool. The only thing that seems bad is that, that wimpy guy from the pianist is in it.
Maybe it’s just the roles he’s chosen to date…
Vic
I think Jack Black in the lead might be pretty awesome. It’s shown that when he plays a supporting character (Enemy of the State, Saving Silverman) he’s actually played that character very well.
I’d like to see more of him in the lead;
And come on, Adrian Brody was in The Pianist– Big Deal? It was a classy picture.
He was in The Jacket, people, THE JACKET!?
I look forward to this one, and I believe the trailer shows some good things to come.
Now if Jackson has changed the story, fine, but he doesn’t seem to me to fit the original character.
Vic
I can agree, Brody does seem to be a tad-bit “weasel-ee” for the part, but only time will tell if he’s misjudged.
Concerning the release date, it seems to be a bit early since the project was first announced. How long has he been working on this?
I mean, you have to look at how heavy the CGI is, and this will be released for the Christmas Box-Office Season
