All you Lost fanboy losers out there: you can keep that go-nowhere, yank my chain show… NBC’s Heroes is where it’s at, baby!
If you’re not watching it already, hopefully between now and April 23rd (when the show picks up again) you’ll have a chance to watch it in reruns. Just kinda, sorta kidding about the fanboy loser comment, BTW. 
It’s not our fault if we got sucked into the bottomless pit that is Lost. but if you’re still defending it, well… if the shoe fits.
Heroes is one of the shows that was spawned by the success of the go-nowhere and give few answers Lost last season, and has completely surpassed it in terms of story, character development and sheer drop-your-jaw entertainment value.

Over the past few weeks the story has been building, revealing more and more about the mysteries of the characters. Every week Heroes has delivered in a big way, managing to fill us in while still retaining plenty of mystery and leaving the audience wanting MORE! Compare this to the unending weeks of Jack, Sawyer and Kate being held captive. One more week of that and I swear I was ready to blow my brains out from frustration and boredom.
On the other hand Heroes keeps me coming back and glad that I did every single week. I don’t know why the heck I haven’t written about this excellent show until now…

I was glad to hear a quote from Tim Kring saying that the intention of the show is to have the entire season wrap up a complete story, with a new story beginning next season. If true, this is good news, because closure is what a series of this nature needs. Being able to close out some threads while creating new ones is one of several marks of a great show. (And if the show does drop in quality over the course of several years -I hope not-, each individual season would be able to stand on its own, not damaging the integrity of other season’s work.)
And three cheers for character development! Audience expectations are challenged in believable ways and produce results that are at once thrilling and dramatic. Last weeks’ episode actually moved me emotionally - something no network show has done for a very long time. Of course, I haven’t deemed very many network shows worth watching over the last decade or so, so that may qualify that statement.
This season is going to find its way onto my DVD shelf eventually.

Now that I think about it, I wouldn’t mind more tv shows doing this, even if they only lasted one season. Tell one story, tell it well, and resolve all loose threads before the end of the season.
Unfortunately, many people get so attached to great characters that they practically demand the studios make follow ups to good stories which end up being garbage most of the time.
Making (good) art isn’t really something you can produce on demand anyway, and “Heroes” is looking more and more like a work of art with each passing week.
Been waiting a long time for you to post a review to Heroes (actually wondering why you haven’t, seeing all the super hero films you’ve reviewed).

I loved it, too, as did my wife. LOST is overrated, IMHO.
