According to this article, Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11 has been picked up by Miramax. The original funding came from Miramax in the first place, and Disney (which owns Miramax) was going to distribute it. But Disney got cold feet after all the controversy ensued. (Um, they were expecting what, apathy?) So now, rather than let the movie languish, Miramax has decided to pick up the film, which means in essence that it’s coming soon to a theater near you.
I want to make one thing clear. I’m not against this movie because of my feelings towards Bush. I have done plenty of Bush-bashing recently, although I will lay my political cards on the table and say that I plan to vote for Bush in the upcoming election. I have nothing against genuine criticism supported by facts. The problem is that Moore’s criticisms don’t appear to be either genuine or supported by facts. This site is only one of many sites that have debunked his “documentaries” ad nauseum.
But regardless of your feelings on the issue, it seems all but inevitable that Fahrenheit 9/11 is headed for a theater near you, possibly sometime this summer. Moore has already won an Oscar for Bowling for Columbine, and he recently won a Palme D’or for Fahrenheit 9/11. He’s one of Hollywood’s golden boys right now, and it speaks volumes about Moore’s true nature, as well as the true nature of Hollywood.

On many message boards (which seem to be mainly populated by left-wingers for some reason) the question is posed: “Why are Republicans/Conservative/Right-Wingers afraid of this movie if it’s not true?”
First, I’m not afraid of this movie. What worries me is that people who are too lazy to do their homework will take this thing at face value and walk out of the theater thinking they just watched a true documentary.
It’s propaganda, pure and simple. I heard something on the radio the other day that made me think that Moore, MoveOn.org and some of the top nauseating Dems all sound like Tokyo Rose.
Sickening.
